Nightmare start to the grow. But here's an update.

The chiller wasn't switched on for about 4 days and my temps were about 26 degrees. Our roots got damaged quite badly.

The 600w led light was way too intense for freshly transplanted clones and we've only just got the dimmable function working on the led.

Basically a poor start but everything should be smooth sailing now.

Patentiometer was a success we wired them parallel and now all are dimming thanks to Supra and Robincnn for great advice. Dimming is awesome

Gram per watt would be great. Much like supra we are getting .6 to .7 grams per watt with a 600 watt hps.

Today's been a much better day. The plants are beginning to recover now. We've dimmed the light down to about 300 watts I'll update after the weekend.

Also started off some new seeds. Afgooey caboose and cheese bomb they should be sprouting over the weekend.

Update: there starting to do there thing now. We're still watching growth they seem to be stacking nodes like crazy. Seems to be very different to hps.

Would have loved to see these take off with a good start. Happy with the daily growth though.

Heat... nothing at all... all the heat is at the top of the tent away from the canopy. We've got about 6k hps to convert over the next 12months. Will not use anything else except for cobs.

you running dwc? the good thing about dwc is even if the plants have a rough start as long as those roots stay healthy they will bounce right back. And it appears they definitely are already. In 4 weeks youll forget it was a rough start

I run a splash system not dwc. I run dwc in another room I'll post them plants tomorrow. That was my issue my roots suffered crazy bad. They practically grown a new set. I'll be going to flower in about 10 days.

I haven't really got anything to compare the lenses to. I just thought it would be a good idea as I've put a cob over every plant and would much rather have the lights focused over the plant with minimal spread.

I guess what i meant was how do you like the spread of the lenses to concentrate the light towards a single plant? How high above the plants to you plan to keep the lights also?

Were very happy with the lenses I don't really have much lost light to the sides. There's no set height I'm just looking at damage to the leaves, intensity may cause issues but I'm yet to see anything.

A potentiometer is a must. We should have done that way before we set the light up. That was a big Fuck up. Dimming is crucial

Hi Bruce, nice looking build. Noticed you are using 3000K emitters which have been falling out of style recently. I use 3000K Vero with great results. Looking forward to seeing how the plants progress.

Yep I have Noticed alot of people moving to the 3500k spectrum some even 4000k. May build a panel of each as we progress over this next 12months. I don't think 3000k will cause any issues as grows have been completed with some great results. I also don't think that the slight shifts in spectrum will have such a dramatic affect- maybe slight advantages in certain aspects. Will be nice to See what people observe using them.

Plants are really starting to take shape now. Very noticeable growth daily and nice and compact. We implement alot of super cropping into our vegging. We never top the plants.

Hopefully we'll veg for another 7days or so and once they hit the net well flip and then train the first 3 weeks of 12/12.

Should be a good update this week.

Update maybe flip next week Friday.
Growth is really good and very strong plants.

These seem way ahead compared to the metal halide system.

I love this thread. Its a shame theres no fastforward button to get to the nug shots! Im planning to build a fixture myself. Trying to get an idea of what COBs are easier to install, since I dont have many power tools around. Good thread!
