A year to climatize? This landscape is relentlessly brutal. I am going into the thick of it tomorrow. Thankfully some cool weather is moving in. I think it’s more than just the elevation. No one tells you about the air. It’s the dry Canyon air. It’s relentless. I am in dire need of a lush lake mountain trail about now. Hopefully the snow melts fast and I can navigate north instead of west.

I had reality smack me in the face about a year and a half ago 2 years now went out to Denver camping in June it was called golden something and I thought but I was in pretty good shape for my age I thought I'd do a little rock climbing ha that was a laugh I got maybe I'll say 5 or 10 feet off the ground before I started to shake from the lack of oxygen to make a long story short lol it was an ugly fail

Looking to get the fuck out of here as soon as I can. In the mean time, I will try to investigate some of the most scenic areas before I depart . And will show you some of it before I leave this god forsaken hell hole. Lol

Dude, I ain’t gonna lie, it was brutal. The elevation was a constant struggle. The park mimicked Washington State hikes. They were almost impossible to differentiate. I lived and hiked Washington for 10 years and while in The RMNP I kept reminiscing about Washington and comparing it because it looked so similar.

Secret
Corners of majestic beauty all alone or maybe with one other stranger . It was so intimate. I came here on the off season to avoid people and was able to cut out some,,, but paid the price with snowy icy slushy dangerous conditions and got hurt and close calls for sever injuries which made it less fun than it could have been. I am glad I finally made it and got to know the territory in person. Very important achievement for me. We made it to the Stanley Hotel, the hotel they filmed Steven Kings , The shining. When you go park at the Safeway down the hill so that you don’t have to pay the $10 parking. Walk up .
The back of one of the buildings up the 4 level out door stair case you can see the hallway. They changed out the carpets and I have no idea where room 217 is. All I saw from the window was this.B6B27F60-62E6-415B-862E-CD1B62301F76.jpeg
 
Got to the trail late. The sunlight situation made photos difficult. Better luck next time. There were a lot of wild flowers. It sure was pretty! it seems like early morning is the best time for pictures in Colorado and eastern Utah. This road trip was an enormous undertaking. The drive on hwy 70 thru Vail was kinda scary, I imagine when the aspens are blooming it must really be spectacular. I am looking to relocate from this place because the internet is too fucking slow.
