assuming that you have a ph meter or ph testing kit, here's your answer:

buy a gal of distilled water

take some soil near the root zone and place it in a cup of distilled water

stir and let it sit in there for 30 mins.

once the 30 minutes are up, test it with you ph testing kit or ph meter.

So after 30min test the water and not the soil?

Yeah hat would definitely make life a lot easier!!

tbh, i never grew in soil, so i can't commit to answering that.

however, it all really depends on the plant and it's environment (i.e. medium, temps etc.). don't get me wrong, i am not saying that you're not going to see any improvement (you definitely should see some sort of improvement), but how much in a certain amount of time is what i can't specifically answer.

Fair enough mate, well I appreciate your help and advice with my situation- especially considering you grow in a different medium and all......

I was just checking out some of your pics- you've had some nice looking crops......

I'm still learning about indoor techniques- I've only had a few "semi-successful" attempts at a full indoor grow - and there was definitely room for improvement......

Weather permitting, I prefer outdoors just due to convinience- but I've been putting some cash into a reasonable indoor set up for the winter months, so I'm kinda mixing it up at the moment......

But yeah, glowing cupboards, incriminating odours and surprise guests made me realise there is definitely an art to stealthy indoor growing that I'm still learning......

Haha, had 2 of those, managed to avoid incriminating odours thus far.

Haha, yeah I didn't think I was the only one grappling with these issues Herb! ;p

Yeah indoor styles definitely required a little more problem solving than I first anticipated- but I learned heaps off my first couple of indoor grows and my whole process has improved drastically since my first attempts

My indoor grow schedule is now solely based around when my landlord comes to do the half yearly inspections here- it's not ideal I know but better to be safe that sorry I guess. I just don't want plants flowering when I know people will be poking around the place- not again anyways! ;p

Ya when i see any deficiency in my little ones , i worry and not clone that plant.. if you got problems , later its more problems not always did i do that..lets say i want to learn and understand from everyone an offer my experiences through my years of growing.. it takes time understanding deficiencies and how to tell them apart when you start. Just like hermies the traits carry in some those big eaters and very picky plants they like there ph dialed in ..calcium and magnesium are available when the ph is right...

Well, I wasn't to phased at first because I'm used to the Widow reacting to even the slightest changes- she's done this for 3 generations now and always bounces back in a couple of days without any assistance.......

But when she didn't recover like she usually does I started getting a little concerned- but when I saw the Skunks were showing signs of problems too I realised I'd better find out exactly what this is a get it fixed up ASAP.

So yeah, just going to keep an eye on them the next couple of days to see if they improve..... I'll check the pH again with a more reliable method and flush the medium if need be. And if that doesn't fix up the issue then I'll apply cal/mag- but I'm glad I got a few options to try before applying nutes for a possible deficiency.

I'm just surprised I've never had to worry about my pH until now- but I guess it was brought on by an extended veg period and being overly root bound for to long huh.....

Cheers for your input mate, always appreciated!
