Defoliation questions

Still defoliation. People hear the word defoliation and they think it automatically means remove all the leaves. There are many different levels.
This is my first grow but I did gather a whole lot of information for months. Some of my plants i've been doing alittle bit less and a little bit more ( some plants I topped, some I double topped, some only pure LST ) so at the end of my harvest I can compare and contrast. At the end of the day its going to be first hand experience. Its hard to know who to trust since there are alot of haters out there but I can tell when someone is genuinely looking out for me. I appreciate the love man and looking out. How a real grower should be. <3

Lol I appreciate the advice guys. I'm just gathering information and thoughts and will decide what I want to do . Looks like so far what I have done has worked. As far as the advice of pretty much lollipopping the whole bottom half and mainling sounds outrages lol. This guy rkymtnman is an idiot also haha.
There lots of trolls on here, that have no idea, good luck.

just wondering do you do the same with autoflowers? people say to not mess with autoflowers too much but one of my thickest stemmed and healthiest looking auto have been from topping it( and not just the highest top i actually topped the two tops right below it as well). So I'm thinking why not just semi lollipop like the bottom 25% just like what an experience grower would do with a photo plant?
Bro science. I take off all the low stuff

yeah my plant is really growing outside the circumference of my pot, but its an autoflower and its a 3 gallon pot. Does this mean that I'm doing pretty well for my first auto grow? This plant is in week 5 since it sprouted, so i'm not sure if the plant is big or small? Plant may look bigger too because I have tied down the plant with lst at a diagonal angle so thats why its covering the whole pot.
if soil try five gln pot next time.

I get ya, but seriously. " dont defoliate because photosynthesis needs leaves" Plus like you said, people may take the word defoliation wrong.
Not sure how many plants you have but your best bet is to take 3 clones all growing in the same room and defol heavy one, defol light another and dont defol the third. Then check your results at the end. For some reason people get very emotional talking about defoliation and you will have people screaming at you their way is the best, even though half of them have never even done any tests.

Personally, I always defoliate fairly heavily at the end of stretch but I live in a very humid location. If I was in a desert I would want the leaves for increased transpiration. Good luck!

i guess my main issue is that there is no way that a plant can create more energy while taking in less energy. a basic law of physics . but like i said, people defol the whole thing, people flush for weeks , people boil roots. you do you.
New leaves grow back. They are smaller and block less light. Bud sites have time to catch up while the plants are growing the leaves back. Air flow and all of that as well. None of it's proven to my knowledge, but a lot of growers swear by it. It's not that crazy when you think beyond the surface level.

Yup, not for every grow...but many use the tool

For me this, so week 3 and i do a wk 5 strip as well, leaf's above and below canopy get removed but i leave a few on each branch, theirs no percentage or number i can give you as a rule of thumb, because every.plant and enviromwnt can be different. Start small and figure out the sweet spots

Like mentioned above if your rooms dry keep as many leaves as possible or if its not growing well... yadda yadda.
