Denver area seed / clone recommendations?

Hi there. I'm doing my first legal grow after doing closets on the East Coast for years. The issue is I have no decent genetics right now.

So I ordered a bunch of stuff off Amazon, got my tent and my fans and exhaust stuff, waiting for the lights, and now have to get the genetics.

I'm in Aurora which is a suburb of Denver. I have at least a dozen places within easy driving distance to go get clones but the clones aren't exactly what I would like, not that I really know which strains do which. I just know I've drooled over seed catalogs for years. But I don't really want to do a cross-state mail order seed either. I would like to go to some local place and either have a half a dozen clones or a half a dozen seeds and get my legally accepted six budding plants.

The problem with seeds is they force you to buy a certain number from a certain strain and mixing a matching is not possible. As a recreational grower I only get six plants in flowering, allowing for multiple people in the household, so I would like to have six plants of different types flowering any give a moment, along with six mothers which I can then repeat the process.

Who here has recommendation of a clone and/or seed source in Aurora, near Denver (or anything within 30 miles or so), who says this is a good place and decent prices?

Find some blue dream. Critical mass and gg#4 are noteworthy too. Potent, flavorful, and oh so heavy producers. Happy growing!

I have gotten good clones from both green solution and also starbuds I am sure there are others but I’ve had success with both of those dispos clones.

Thanks. Can you point to a particular source?

I can't Google a particular strain and find out which dispensaries has it. It means I have to call one after another. Which I WILL do, but if you want to shortcut that, thanks.

I tried to find seeds on a trip to Denver about 5 years ago, and it was super challenging. I finally found some in a dispensary in Breckinridge, but they only had a few strains. I ended up going home empty handed and ordering online. I'm interested in what's out there now, or what was out there that I didn't know about back then.

Decisions made, action taken.

Starbuds was local enough and answered the phone and said they had at least four strains. I figured I'd just grab one of each. Actually one of them was rotting in the tray.

The Bud tender seem to be a novice and had never handled a clone in her life. She had to ask the other bud tender what to do with them and they put them in gram containers. She tried to hand me two strains but really at least there were three viable and I just wanted to buy what she had. I ended up walking away with three clones and they were kind of droopy. This was simply not a happy experience though.

In the parking lot I then called LeConte's. I tried previously but they kept on going to voicemail. Finally someone answered. Of course they have a whole bunch of clones come on in. Damn it I'd be happy to buy them all from Le Conte's.

So in laconte's I got three more. I was trying to avoid taking from multiple dispensaries since if I got any type of pest I needed to identify the source and now I've confused that aspect. Oh well.

The laconte's clones were much healthier. They had more leaves, their roots were much thicker. Just a better experience. They knew how to package them put them in a bag and move me on. If I ever do this in the future I will definitely go to la Conte's first.

I placed them in 7 gallon fabric grow bags filled with Fox farm Ocean Forest. I topped it off with layer of diatomaceous earth to kill any possible pests that burrow in. I layered in some mycorrhizal before I dropped the clones in. I'll give it at least a week to settle in before I give any type of nutrients that might burn. I use simple tap water that I bubble with some type of chemical that extracts out the chlorine and chloramine. I have 360 LED watts overhead in two lights for vegetation. I will double this when moving into flowering.
