Destination...Amersterdam

I love the 'Dam, definately my spiritual home.

I'm off there for the third time in May, staying at The Bulldog youth hostel.

Its nearly impossible to buy property in the Dam now, and the licensing laws mean its getting really difficult to keep existing coffeeshops open, let alone open new ones.

I recon campaining for legalizationis where its at, so that we can open coffeeshops in our own countries.

Smoke on.

If you are Canadian, Australian or from New Zealand there are NO visa requirements in the Netherlands. So if you can find a job (hard without Dutch language, except the hospitality business) you are welcome to stay. The Dutch remember their liberation from the Nazis and make us welcome. I don't know about Americans. It would be almost impossible to open a new coffeeshop at this time for a newcomer, and accomodation (apartments) are almost unavailable. People wait for tenants without heirs to pass on to get places! That's why there are so many houseboats around. Good luck, and go for a visit ,I might be proven wrong.
