Dezracer's Perpetual Grow

I figured I should start a new thread here since I'm now using HPS for Flower lighting.

Started out with CFL only lighting but once I decided to do a type of perpetual grow I realized CFL wouldn't be right for me. I have a thread that shows most of the grow for my first two plants (WW and Shiva Skunk) through the end of the 4th week of flowering in the CFL forum.

I also have two more plants (Hindu Skunk and Green Cush) that started as clones and have been vegging in my veg room for just over 4 weeks now. I put the HS in the flower room today but will wait a little longer on the GC since I took some cuttings from her for clones.

I've attached some pics of my setup which is two separate closet type rooms in my garage. The veg room is 3'LX2'DX7'H and the flower room is 4'LX2'DX7'H. I'm using CFls in the veg room and a 400watt HPS light in a Supernova air cooled hood in the flower room with a 120cfm PC fan exhausting the hood and a 9" fan tied in to 4" vent ducting with carbon scrubbers to exhaust the rooms. The 9" fan is wired to a dimmer to control fan speed so I can control temps and it works pretty good so far. There's also a small desk fan for air circulation in the veg room and a 9" fan for circulation in the flower room.

I DIY'd a bubbleponics setup that I intend on putting two of the clones in once they root so I can give that a shot. If more than two root I'll put the other(s) in soil in case I kill the bubble kids.

Comments, criticism and advice are always welcome.

Looks like the first 2 plants need something under them to make them the same distance from the light as the newbies. I'm excited for the first harvest but I'm also excited about how big these other 2 will most likely get!!

Oh yeah, decided to go ahead and put two clones in the DWC so the Green Cush went into flower too to make room. That's why there's 4 plants in these pics. The DWC setup (with 2 Green Cush Clones in it) is sitting where the Green Cush was in the Veg room now.

I love the way my hands smell after checking on the plants . Just thought I'd share that.

Took a couple pics of the main colas on the WW and SS plants this evening. Oh man, can't wait!
The cola on the SS plant is swelling up so fat that it's starting to lean over. Gonna have to stake that bitch up, haha. The WW is swelling up too, the buds are looking better and better.

I tied the main stem on the SS plant to a stake this morning because it was starting to lean more and more each day. Must be putting on some weight, haha.

Thanks! I'm really happy right now. They are looking healthy again (except for the leaves that were burnt 2 weeks ago), buds are fattening up, life is good in the flower room,lol.

As an update on the grow, I raised the WW and SS plants up to get the tops to be at the same height as the GC and HS plants. I also am worried about the clones I'm trying to root making it so I went and picked up a Sour Grapes clone today and stuck in the DWC in place of one of the GC clones. The GC one wasn't lookig very good but instead of getting rid of it I sprayed it down and put it back in the dome with the other one. I'm really just hoping to get one or two of these to make it so I have a new round starting up. We'll see what happens I guess.

I had a problem with my lighting last night where the lamp wasn't lighting. The timer kicked the ballast on and you could hear it but the light wasn't coming on. I unfortunately sent an email to HTG Supply before really checking into it further than making sure the bulb was tight. Figuring it would take longer to set up temp lighting than it would to troubleshoot the HPS, I started checking it out and found that there was a faulty connection at the socket. I soldered it up, remounted it in the hood and it fired right away.

This morning I got an email from the online shipping dept. that showed me that HTG is clearly willing to help in any way and stands behind their products. So thanks HTG Supply! You guys kick ass.

OH, and another clone is biting the dust today sadly. I'm now down to one GC clone looking good, one GC looking not so good, and one Sour Grape clone looking great. I really hope the one GC clone makes it.

I really need a loupe or something because I think the Skunk might be done aready. Found where to get seeds for this particular strain, read their estimated flowering window and looking at the calendar it appears it should be finishing between this Saturday and next. The smell of the buds has changed in the last week or so and it smells really nice. The Widow's smell has changed too and it is really frosty all of a sudden. I need to get a closer look at the Trichs so I can tell for sure but I'm pretty sure I see cloudy and amber all over the buds on the Skunk plant. The Widow has the same thing but mostly clear and cloudy looking. Like I said, I need the damn loupe and I'm not getting one until Saturday night.

The more I look at the WW and SS plants, the more done they are looking to me. Some of the small leaves around the buds are starting to change color and some of them have the tips starting to shrivel a ltiile. I'm going to see if I can borrow something to look at them closer today because I don't want to let them go too long. They really shouldn't be done quite yet but they look done to me. I am a newb though so who knows.

The two plants that are not quiite two weeks into their 12/12 light cycle are taking over in the flower room. They are huge compared to the other two and are filling up the area. I need to get the other two out soon or they'll get smothered. The Hindu Skunk plant touches the pandafilm curtain on three sides so it's just under 24" wide and I'm now having to turn it 180 degrees every day to keep the growth even. The Green Cush plant is a little smaller but not by much as it's getting close to touching too and is now crowding the fan that's tucked in the corner. I'm going to replace the fan with an oscillating tower fan but I'm thinking I might need to hang it upside down to give the plants more floor space. Not sure how I'll manage that since I'm not even close to being healed up yet...

MY seeds from Attitude hit US soil finally. Hopefully I'll get them by the end of the week since it already feels like forever since I ordered them. I have one plant in veg (DWC) right now and one clone in the dome that hopefully willl make it. Otherwise I'll germ 2 seeds out of what I ordered next weekend to keep things rolling (they're all fem seeds). I've got Super Lemon Haze, The Church, AK-48 and some freebies coming and the freebies are supposed to be fem'd too I think. I want to try the autos but I might wait til the current vegging plants are in flower, then germ the autos and run them 12/12 from seed in the flower room. I won't have anything going in the veg room for a few weeks that way but I think it will all work out.

sounds interesting tight schedule - never tried autos, will keep an eye on those
