Dimethyl ether

I have been using DME to extract, I have been getting good results, amber color, recently had a sample tested and it came back 56% THC, no residuals found. I did not decarb, and this increased my THCA, so, just wondering about others results?

Dme as in mz12x? If so, I've been getting pretty decent results as well. My main thing is, everyone talks about how using that stuff makes the concentrate wax up fast. But with me, I can't get that mother fucker to wax up lol. I canget it to shatter or pull snap sap.But overall I do like using it, quick n easy to purge.

I have been using MZ12x, and unlike another post about solvents, I find info tainted to butane as being safer, which I do not understand as per the hazards, like blowing your self up. From the literature I have read, DME is safer and purges in less time and is not harmful to the ozone layer as butane is. i have been getting the same results and have not got a wax or crumble, but if i understand strains OG kush has a been know to wax up. I have been getting much better results, 6 oz of northern lights yield 17 grams, Chernobyl 1 oz yielded 8 grams. Never got that with butane.

i really do not understand Tane head still saying Butane is safe, when i know people who do this at home do not purge correctly, nor many do not have vac systems. As i see so far only one person has replied to me.

i posted a picture of a batch i had tested came in at 56% and this was done with second class nugs, As i am not in Colorado or California or Washington which has an overabundance of pot to play with. but this was done at a lab out of Rhode Island. I did not decarb so my THCA was high, CBD level was decent,

I'll try to post a picture later, I think I have 4 grams left at work. Might came out a little darker than yours I believe.

But compared to butane I get a little better yield with the mz12x but the color of the two are actually very similar. In my case, I think it has to do with the age of the material and the fact it's trim nut bud.

Thanks for sharing those pics, have gotten a same range of color, I found using not only 50micron screen, also use unbleached coffee filters. As far as safer than butane, it is not combustible as butane still flammable, no solvent is safe unless you practice some margin of safety when using any solvent including CO2. The problem is many people are DIY and are using different methods, some are just dangerous, while others do not wear gloves, have seen pictures were even in dispensaries they are not handling as per even food handlers safe methods. If butane was so safe then why 20-24 hours vac purge time.

Well to be clear i wasnt saying one was safer than the other theyre really about equal.. i dont use butane very often anyway.

A quick comparison shows they are both "extremely flammable" but dme adds the s33 code cautioning against static and s9 needing extra ventilation. They both can be used as fuel and both ready disperse with a low flash point.

there again understanding the solvent you are working with is important. most individuals do not follow simple safety, which is why so many blow this selfs up, much like the old meth cooks.

I think and will find out if my assumptions are founded, I think that due to Korea import that the gas may not be as pure, I sent a can to a friend that is looking into that, he works with chemicals and gasses, and informed me that the nicotine that he gets from china has different color than the same product he gets from USA. If this is the case it would explain some of the color people get.

I think butane is more apt to react to static, due to combustible, always needs extra ventilation no matter what solvent, DME would cause some problems, found that it degrades rubber, which might explain why some people have trouble using rubber bands to hold screens on their tubes,
