Both -A and -AB have the Io adjustment, meaning there's a little dial onboard the drivers' circuit that you can adjust to control the maximum amount of current the driver will output. But this little dial can be fragile and it's not recommended you use it as the primary means of dimming your lights, especially if you plan on changing the brightness "often".
The -AB driver has an extra pair of wires to which you can attach a dimmer.

So the HLG-320H-C2800B would not come with the extra wires for the dimmer knob?

A - internal pots; sonetimes both for voltage and current, very neato
A - external dimming
AB- internal and external dimming by current, generally most adviceable. Some say it also comes with voltage adjustment but seems like at least not on all models, havent seen one to confirm.

That’s about right, but why not he a driver that can max out the light? You can dim it to whatever you want but have the ability to push almost double the wattage.

Hard to argue with this logic, I just don't know if I would ever need that much power in my current set up.
Are there any quality/longevity differences between Mean Well and Inventronics?

You’re going to buy new things before they quit working. And if you don’t mind wasting a bit of electricity these qb’s put up high and cranked up are pretty nice. I’m getting 54v at each board and have a par of 600-700 24” away when drawing 600+watts at wall. I’m reading over 2000 up close.

Drivers run a little bit less efficient when turned down on low, best thing is to have a driver closely matched to your power requirements. With just a little bit extra just in case... But 320 over 4 boards should be plenty for any 3x3. HLGs recomendation from before is a 240/2board kit so 320 over 4 boards should be plenty

What models was it? Ive heard the 320s dont have voltage adjustment for the ABs. It errs me completely that years after the intro of the ABs there is t really any clear info on this

Don't recall the ones that have been built for others but I have a few HLG 185- 36 AB's downstairs for 4 x QB132's.
(Haven't seen any higher voltage CC meanwell drivers, which might be different)
Onboard Potentiometers and I've got a 100k linear for the outboard dimmer.
Those were pulls I got a lot of six - I don't have a pic handy though. I believe they max out around 200-205 watts. HTH!

Don’t discount the Qb96 ( they can be pushed up to 200 watts each ) and would make a fine array ( 4 or 6 ) for any setup. Simple aluminum rail frame build.

The only reason they don't sell Diablo boards is because if you wire it backward the reds blow out, they can't warranty them, it would break em. If you want to buy Diablo or even 288 boards id check cobkits.com there are other resellers as well but that's who I've used in the past always got what I ordered
