DIY with Quantum Boards

Hey guys! I'm new to LED and wanted to ensure I'm going in the right direction. I've watched growmau5s videos, read a few guides on ledgardener, and now i'm ready.

I bought 4 Aetrum 288.2s with the heatsink combo that I plan to flower with alongside a reptile uvb bulb.

My tent is a 4x4 but there's a 2x2 in one corner that use to veg plants in for my perpetual grow (no space outside my tent). Planning on an L shaped aluminum frame to hold the boards.

I bought a HLG 480H-C2100B, some solid copper wire, a waterproof connector, wagos, a power plug, and I need to make a trip to home depot soon for the aluminum.

Am I on the right track?

Thrive Alive Boost - Hempy

Gave them a Thrive Alive Red boost and they love it ... love that shit.
QBs purring along ...

BD is a “ doofus “ and will get pulled if it doesn’t change. Got a backup rooter with small sprout on standby.

Hello all, I recently purchased 2 qb120 4 pack 3000k(8 boards) and 2 MW Hlg240-2100 drivers. I'm looking for some help/suggestions on building a frame for them in a 4'x4' tent.
Looking for -frame size(2 individual frames per 4 pack preferably)
-Spacing of qb's in the frame
-spacing of frames in relation to each other(if the suggestion of 2 frames is used)
I was given a suggestion by Humple to do 2 boards in the middle and 3 on the outsides, I am assuming this would be a 1 frame fixture?
Just looking for ideas and suggestions BEFORE I go buy more angle aluminum than I need.Haha.
I really like the looks of the rails used by timber. Any suggestions as to frame material ,outside of the L channel i currently use on my cob bar rigs?
Thank you in advance to any responses, suggestion and ideas to my questions posed.

*edit
driver mount suggestions are welcome as well.

These things are just to much heat without a cooled fixture for me. I use 9x288 boards on one 3x3 fixture at 319 watts ( hlg 320 54) in the winter i didn't notice they didn't seem hot at all, but i also hadn't converted EVERYTHING and still had some cooled hoods. AC popped and it got to 122 degrees this summer so these things do put out some heat. ANYWAYS
Im going to get some XXXL Reflectors, that will be large enough to put 8 x 288 boards im running really Soft as you can see 319 watts.
If the Boards Touch or Rest on the Glass hood will that be okay ? I need to cool these and this is the only way i can think to stick them in a fixture and run air over them and out of the room.

Your idea works great and yes you can do just what you are looking to do.

Sounds to me more like a lack of airflow. I've run my 4 QB 304 at 135 PER board without excessive heat issues in a 4x4 tent, just got to move lots of air through. But if you can spare the headroom, the aircooled hood mod has been done and works great.

Remove the glass its not needed.

I have thought about this myself because my new house gets a lot more sun than my old and this summer was plain stupid as far as heat goes.
In my mind a better option would be to remove the glass from the hoods and fasten the boards to a sheet of aluminium and the heat sinks (if used) on the other side. It would have to be sealed and a perfect fit but that way all the heat coming out of the top would be swept away and the light or any part of the spectrum would not be lost with the glass.

Hey,
After full 8 weeks, we chopped down the 4 lavenders. They started flowering in different sizes, 1 large-medium, 1 medium, and 2 small ones. Here they are when we moved them to the flower tent, 3 at the middle and one to the left

And that's how they looked like after 8 weeks (right tray)

Some pre chop bud porn

Poat chop flashy pics

All 4

The aroma of this strain is AMAZING, super sweet almost candy like pungent aroma. One of my favorite smokes tbh.

Other than that, things are going well on the right tray, mix of 7 different strains

Stay safe
