Do Democrats politicize science? Does Obama?

thats funny because i worked at a trout hatchery in CT. but we breed and distributed under the state. but your right with what they ate. it came in 50 pound bags and looked and smelled like dog food. it's just crude protein garbage that fattens them up. they just sit in giant pools all day, thousands in one. You can always tell a stocked fish from a natural, the actual meat of the fish is a grey color instead of the nice pink you'd find in a natural fish.

it's fucking gray all the way thru
And I believe the trout farm I worked for was also state licensed for providing fry. We hatched, bred and raised our own. Most people dont know this but Rainbow trout will go up to 18 lbs, by that time. You dont want to eat them

I caught two 17+ pound rainbows in one day in a small lake in the middle of nowhere. Natural, pink, wild tasting, more like salmon than trout. Bottom jaws were elongated and curled up a bit. Before we cooked them we had them weighed officially, both were whopper club specimens, but not the biggest ever.

I prefer the freerange wild organic salmon

I had no idea rainbow trout got that large. I thought they maxed out at about 5 to 6 pounds.

I had caught probably 100 trout in that little lake over several years before that day. All of those were under 3 pounds. When I caught the first big one , I knew I had something special because he effortlessly pulled the line out of the reel which was set for 5 pounds. it took me nearly 20 minutes to tire him out and land him.

The biggest ever caught in this state was more than 22 pounds.

Holy shit! If I caught one like that, I think I would let it go. The biggest one I ever caught was about five pounds in a small lake in Colorado, about 10,000 feet elevation. Me and my girl friend at the time ate it for breakfast and it was AWESOME! I haven't been fishing in years.

I was about to post "that's not a rainbow ... that's a steelhead!!" But a quick web search shows me they're the same species. The steelhead however is anadromous (lives in the sea and "runs" like salmon). The inland rainbows I'd get in Europe had white flesh; no hint of pink. cn
