24/0 for 2 weeks after sprouting to get them small and bushy (hps).
then another 2-3 weeks 18/6 to get some stretch on them untill you get the required height and then 12/12 for flowering.
best method i have ever used.

HPS for veg? yeah that would work but not near as well as MH as HPS color spectrum is for flowering more so than vegging.

Guys ain't it great to stoned?
I do have some plants 12/12 from seed, I dunno Y I didnt even mention it.
I do both really.
I have 6 grows in progress and 1 will be finished tomorrow.

Has anyone actually experimented with 24/0 and 18/6 for veg with the same strain within relatively controlled systems and gotten explicit yield/quality/time differences? It just seems like there have to be some people out there that have been doing this for a while and have experimented with the ideal photo-periods at least for a particular strain. I hear alot of well it's "debatable" and "in my opinion" but I can't seem to find someone who can tell me I've tried it all (24/0;18/6;combo of -for veg) on multiple strains over _____ grows and this is what I have found. It seems like most people here go 18/6 if they don't go straight to 12/12, but for those of you who do this, can you say that you have actually tried variations/combos of the two and found one way more productive/beneficial than the other? Again I know each strain has it's ideal photo-period, and some people "think" well plants need rest too so I never 24/0 it, but I just thought I'd ask. In reality I know the variation might not be different enough to say, but it seems like some of you out there who have very controlled systems should have some insight. Any input is appreciated, just a noob here who doesn't want to reinvent the wheel, plus I'd like to have some reference for a debate I have with a friend on this site. Thanks.
