What do you have against loopholes. If there are loopholes, they are legal and should be used by every smart businessman. Case in point.....

I'm a farmer. I don't pay sales tax on purchases geared for farm use. By law the items purchased - chemicals, diesel fuel, pruners, fence posts, nails, hammers, shears, irrigation equipment, pipe, electrical stuff, etc. must have been purchased with the intent of farm business. Doesn't mean I won't use my lawn tractor (which tows a special spray rig) to mow my home turf, or spray some rose bushes. There's a lot of crossover. And as Obama and his IRS cronies are so good at, if I can keep them from getting their hands on my money, I will. It's my duty as a patriot.

You and your have not ilk keep making these clicking sounds with your black boots. The mentality goes - "I hate billboards, unless their mine."

We (US) haven't balanced our books in 14 yrs.......It's no longer Dem or Rep.

You seem to be hung up on contracts & agreements vs the burden on society created by an artifically low minimum wage .

Again if i find a worker who's desperate for work to mow my 6 acre lawn for $20 & he agrees to do the work does that make me right to take advantage of his desperation for work ?

Ive got meetings this afternoon so i wont be around till later on but i would like an honest answer if you would .
 
You know actually the company that I work for was owned by a man here that paid his employees Well. Gave quarterly bonuses. And also bonuses on holidays like Christmas. Had a Christmas and Thanksgiving party every year. Where he gave out cash prizes and things like flat screen TVs and stuff to his employees. Unfortunately the company was being bought out by a bigger uk corporation. It was an American owned company before. Anyways I was told about all the bonuses and everything that the company gives out. Well I got hired on full time in June and June was the month of the quarterly bonus I did not get it since I was just now getting hired on. A month or two after that the Buyout was complete and they are no more bonuses now. I have been promised by my boss a raise three separate times that I have not seen yet. I don't really know about promised but I was told that we would all be getting raises.

Jesus, you made it sound like years and years of min wage slave labor.

Are you the most senior person in the factory? Or are there lots of people who have worked there far longer? The UK does generally respect seniority in business dealings.

I worked a min wage job once for about 2 weeks, but quit to go work on large machines making $18 an hour back in 1979. Then I joined the Marine corps and received $79 every 2 weeks for a couple of years. Best times of my life were always struggling times, difficulties overcome, goals met and exceeded.

You sound like a informed individual with a good work ethic, come up with a plan to get that management position. Make a list of all the things you do better than anyone, and then make a short term goal to learn another process and master it. After your 1 year anniversary present this list to the big boss and sell yourself. It's self promotion, not making others look bad so you can look good, you will create enemies that way. Be honest about yourself. Do you smoke weed before work and come in a bit high? Might want to quit that.

You`re not listening to spandy, you`re just reading the words. I started with a truck that didn`t run and the tools I was wearing when I got laid off after 15 yrs. I had the skill but not the cash or time. Turns out, you`ll only need the skill.

If your work is above average and reasonably priced, word by mouth will launch you better than expensive advertising. Advertise but don`t go crazy when starting out, you`ll get calls you can`t tend to. My first job, I was watched and then approached by a neighbor, he saw what I do and wanted to talk. It was slow at first but kept going that way, job after job. This is where you need to be at start. All of the sudden ..."that money" is there but don`t spend it, put it into the company and draw from it.

Like also said, Dig yourself out by making a sacrifice and putting that cash towards it. Find one or two small things you can do without for six or more months. Set up work in advance of making your turnover,

I collected for six months wanting to spend it all but didn`t, found work on the side undocumented and accounts received were CASH ONLY, don`t ever take checks on slush work. Drop your price by a good percentage if your customer is willing to go to the bank. After a year or so, you`ll be able to go legit. Think it out.

The reality is 80% of people that have all kinds of money and time but little talent, get labeled ... "one of those" by customers which quickly spreads around your vendors you go to in the morning. Don`t ever get labeled "one of those", you`ll be back at square one,..... no room for advancing......

Well I didn't say that was this year I just said I was getting hired on at June and June was the last time they gave out a bonus I didn't say that was June this year. I've been here two years and. yes i am the most senior employee in the warehouse now. But I've been working these kinds of jobs my whole life so this job is just my latest one. My last job was a factory that I worked at for five years. Started out at 7:50 as a temp got hired on as 12 then changed shifts and got my pay deducted to 1150.

I am listening to the words you build a company slowly it does not all come at once I completely understand that the only problem is when you get stuck in a minimum wage job I don't have time to build a company slowly I cannot quit my job Assuming that I can find other work and get paid for it. If I made enough money here than I could slowly save back money and then by the time I have worked here for 10 years have enough money to stop working here and go do what I want to do. But instead I barely make enough money to scrape by so...
 
Understand I would make a lot more money running my own company. That's a no brainer. Doesn't change the fact that the people out here working in factories the industries that provide everything that you use in your life shouldn't be paid better. When I took this job I was at a temp service for $12 an hour. The last job I had was a temp service at 750 and got hired on at 12. So coming in as a temp at $12 an hour I figured I would be making at least 16 dollars an hour which is what this job Should pay minimum. Then increase as you prove how good of a worker you are.
 
I`ll suggest your first sacrifice,....work 7 days a week, 2 at small repairs around your area, don't touch the profits. You`ll be dead by noon each day but if you need to advance more, do it. It wont be for long if you can do the work correctly and timely....just keep thinking your wife and kid are worth it and don't try and screw customers.

Just a suggestion though for I don`t know your situation well. 10 years is a bad plan, weekend worrier without pay,..(profits saving not spending) is quicker.

I work 6 days a week already 12 hours or 10 hours a day Me and my wife both get one day off a week. But we're getting off topic this thread is about people that work full time should be paid livable wages to where they don't have to work 200 hours in a week.
 
Right now my plan is To get a Certification for HVAC. There is a technical school two blocks away from me that I can walk to when my wife leaves for work. But I'm still afraid to go to school and spend money and time doing it. Because I have seen so many people and heard so many stories about people going to school and then getting out and not being able to find jobs of what they're looking for or the job they do find pay the same that all the other jobs pay
 
Let me see here i pay 43 percent Corporate tax and 34 percent personal tax so add that all up and pow 77 percent taxed on every fucking dollar getting taxed 2 times here folks sometimes owning a company is not what many people think its is ...
companies get richer by assets and tax loop holes like mentioned above
many employees forget that companies pay EI, blue cross WCB and or other things so really even though you make 12 bucks a hr theoretically company is paying more you just do no see it
What i think the problem is most Americans fail at is the American dream
lets face it ask a company why they moved over seas to begin with

with Average american obese , Lazy, and lets be truth full here uneducated thinking the world owes them something ....
And thinking there worth more then they really are its no wonder companies are leaving faster then they are coming in ...
people should be thinking TAXES sure give the Average American a pay raise but raise taxes to par levels the way it should be instead of governments eatting the difference and going more into debt

Yup you all desee a raise but that gallon of milk should be 50 percent more or that loaf of bread should be 30 percent more remember that

Well if all goes, you`ll be hiring and making that decision one day. On topic.

It`s a bumpy road starting in the trades....but if you don`t put in the efforts, you wont get a return.
