I grow dakini kush and I can usually pull a qp per plant, a lb from 4 under 1 600w hid with 8 weeks veg. Do you really think I would be able to double that if I went hydro, I didn't think it would be that much difference that's why I never went to hydro I thought it was just to shave a couple weeks off your veg time that would definitely convince me to go hydro. Are you sure have you ever grown in soil with the same strain you have grown hydro.Yes, way more. A good grow in soil with six plants a light and a three month veg would get you just over a pound and a half a light. Same six plants with a two month veg would do almost 2.5 lbs a light.
There's a lot of shitty ffof going around this yearmy story is, I grew hydro 25 years ago in my garage, oregon legalized 4 plant home grows as if July 1st, I have ran 2 small crops thru my box , both in FFOF soil and its just a cluster mess of hot nutes burnt leaves , nitrogen tox,, and i have no control because I am stuck in dirt,, cant flush, grrrrr
but I think I may be getting a handle on soil slowly,, but I remember 25 years ago, and the BIG ASS buds I used to pull out of that box under a 400 MH bulb in flood drain hydro,
but soil is so dam easy,,
So hydro so far gives
1 shorter veg time?
2. higher yeild? yes or no?
I use promix and just Schultz all purpose for veg and Schultz bloom for flower and I never have problems with nute burn or deficiencies, I think a lot of it depends on the strain too though.my story is, I grew hydro 25 years ago in my garage, oregon legalized 4 plant home grows as if July 1st, I have ran 2 small crops thru my box , both in FFOF soil and its just a cluster mess of hot nutes burnt leaves , nitrogen tox,, and i have no control because I am stuck in dirt,, cant flush, grrrrr

some are saying that promix doesnt have much in the way of nutes in the soil from the start, so you can feed it the nutes of your choice ,, is this true?,, if so promix is just a medium,, like coco can be called a medium,, I was looking at Hempy buckets, using coco or the perolite,, but hell I thought if I do that I may as well put in a few plumbing connections and hook up a pump and a second timer for the nute pump and one for the lightI use promix and just Schultz all purpose for veg and Schultz bloom for flower and I never have problems with nute burn or deficiencies, I think a lot of it depends on the strain too though.
Oh yeah, two thirds promix one third sheep manure. No promix is not heavy in nutrients but I never get deficiencies or nute burn. I feed them pretty heavy once they get big and I always have strong healthy plants. The nute burn is probably coming from the ffof.some are saying that promix doesnt have much in the way of nutes in the soil from the start, so you can feed it the nutes of your choice ,, is this true?,, if so promix is just a medium,, like coco can be called a medium,, I was looking at Hempy buckets, using coco or the perolite,, but hell I thought if I do that I may as well put in a few plumbing connections and hook up a pump and a second timer for the nute pump and one for the light
no doubt the ffof is the major culprit in this , some guys are reporting doing nothing but water for a whole grow in ffof,, and then I say,, what kinda control over matters is that,, none, you just get what you get, and if a person was to add anthing to the ffof soil it screws up the grow,, I dont want to spend another 4 months for a shitty grow because the soil took me for a rideOh yeah, two thirds promix one third sheep manure. Very well stated. The promise of hydro ponics comes from its name; growing with water. ALL the necessary nutrients are in suspension in the water and therefore fully available to the plant. With certain kinds of hydroponics, this nutrient solution can be available to the plant at all times. It's this constant full availability that gives hydro the edge in growth and yield potential, all other variables being equal.
As @Tim Fox just noted above, hydroponic systems can allow the grower to change our amend their nutrient solution anytime, allowing for total over the composition of minerals the plant gets access to.
Organic soil systems can approach this ideal, and you won't hear me bet against their ultimate potential.
Hey AW,Yes, way more. A good grow in soil with six plants a light and a three month veg would get you just over a pound and a half a light. Same six plants with a two month veg would do almost 2.5 lbs a light.
Nope, im using my buddys numbers for his rdwc. We both use the same double ended lights and i was in soil, ended up with a lb and a half per light average. He hits 2.5 every grow. Hes dialed in and pulling an extra harvest per year compared to me. Asshole 2.5 a light isnt that hard to get in dwc though. Im sure theres other guys getting those numbers here.Hey AW,
Vegged for 3 months in what conditions (light wattage)?
2.5 lbs a light (assume 1K)------got any pics to substantiate?
A~~~
I've never tried those double ended 1Ks before-----I understand they're hotter than a 1K hortilux (what I run)----how much hotter,IDK.With the new double ended 1000 watt hps lamps hitting 2.5 pounds with the right variety has become easier for sure but still difficult to achieve for most. Hitting those numbers with traditional lamps uh....ive noticed what people claim is alot different than reality. Its not easy and definitely not the norm. Most people get around 16 to 24 ounces of trimmed dried medical quality patient ready buds. Thats the truth!!!
