I'm finding that the delay caused by the mainlining gives time to get the cuttings rooted and into flower before the plants get way too big. The ideal scenario for me would be for the first 'topping' to be the cutting I sex from, but for some reason my success with these cuttings isn't as good as when cuttings are taken when the plants are a little older. The ones I've done this time are looking good, just dipped in aloe vera and pushed into coco plugs.Yeah I'm liking just setting them up in a direction and letting them go too - haven't thought of the mainline as a basic structure, but then again, I've been doing autos lately
Ahhh, so THAT is how sexing is done! Thanks for the insight!
I also think the early topping and LST'ing, both give a strong structure for the canopy and gives time for a better root system to develop...................this is only anecdotal obv
