...I've read that polio-laden blankets were traded. Europe had been through the epidemics, build an immunity (to a degree) and started one of the first biological wars. Except, only the europeans knew the war was on. Although, Egypt had carvings of people that had contracted polio - not sure if they 'used' it to their advantage though.
