bad advise. getting CFL or T8/T5 half an inch away from the plants will only get you heat stress and burn plants. 2inches is the closest you want your bulbs to your plant. 2-3 inches is the best distance to absorb the most light with out burning your plants. Anything further than 3 inches and your plants are gonna stretch out for the light.

first off thats absolutely crazy looking....... just keep your lights as close as possible(as long as it doesnt burn your hand, it wont burn it) and it will get bigger:). the farther away ur lights are, the farther ur node intersections becomeand that just sucks....kinda

Bad advice, 2-3" is too far away, and you're losing ALOT of output. :razz: I've used T5's and T8's, and neither will heat stress your plants, unless they are actually touching them, OR, you have no air circulating where the heat buildup is. I recommend adding a fan blowing across the bttom of the tubes/top of you plants, rather than give up any output, especially when we're talking fluoros. I run seedlings at 1/2"(or even less) directly underneath T8's, and they love it. No heat stress here, not even a little. :)

These plants are about 5 days old. I am using 6 23 watt cfl daylight 6500k lightbulbs and a 24 watt t5 2 foot light. I used MG potting View attachment 1642215soil with my n/p/k at .05/.01/.05. I added just a little bit of my nutes which is humbolt oneness which the guy at my local hydro store recommeView attachment 1642213nded. N/P/k is 5/9/4. Some of my leaves are turning a bit white/yellowish on the inner and outer portions, just slightly. Dunno whats wrong.

Starting your own post would probably be better. Everyones gonna jump on you and say it's the MG soil. Also those plants are waaaay to young to be getting nutes. Especially while in MG soil that already has time released nutes in it. Rule of thumb, don't add soil for at least the first 3-4 weeks, unless your growing hydro. Cut out the nutes for like 3 more weeks, just plain ph'd water when the soil is actually dry, not when it looks dry, but when it's actually dry. Also, take a couple hours and look around the stickies on the forums, tons of information that you need to read up on.

Don't add soil for 3-4 weeks? hahaha sorry had to rib yah on that one. I know what you ment.

UPDATE

Plant was transplanted and flushed after signs of nut burn. I am glad i found out in time. Here are some new pics of this weird mutated (hopefully fem) plant. Does this plant seem small for 3 weeks old??

TELL ME WHAT YOU THINK!!

Yes, it's a bit small, but you've had problems, so it's to be expected. The lights being too far away, is the #1 contributing factor. I can guarantee that of you buy a light meter, and check the output at 1" vs. 4", it'll be something like 3000 lumens vs. 1500 lumens,(I have a meter, and have checked this myself, with a similar setup) which is a HUGE difference, especially when 3000 is about as low as you want to go, for healthy plant growth.

yah, i would take one of the stems and train it in a clockwise circle, and take the other stem and train it in a counterclockwise circle, and just keep circling one above the other when it gets that big, would look pretty sweet and would get a lot more light ...
i'm dying to see how this is going to turn out.. when i first read the title, i had thought that you had meant you had twins, which i've seen more than one time, some of subcools gear does this quite often believe it or not, but than when i saw your pix, god damn, lol, never saw that before...
and i agree, it's just something in the genetics of the plant, some kind of mutation, who knows, maybe it came from japan, lol..
you never know though as some mutes can be really killer, and others, well, not so much.. keep your fingers crossed and take care of it and see what you get from it.. and i agree with what someone else has said, even if it's a male, i'd try and keep it around if you can and try to get some pollen from it and make a cross or two with the freak, and see if the mutation passes off to any of its offspring or not..

Thanks for the feed back fellas. To be honest this is my 2nd grow, and im shocked at the looks of this plant. I can just imagine what people who have alot of experience would think. Anyways I have 2 concerns

1. The top 2 1 blade leaves (the biggest ones on the plant) dont really seem to be growing, or doing much of anything... Are these 2 blades going to turn into something bigger? or is it effected by the mutation?

2. Can i LST this early? This plant is approx 3 weeks from seed.
