Like I said, the 3 FS were all done 7 1/2 to 8. I've also ran several c-99 hybrids [ Chucky's Bride, Drizella, and sub's crosses] and only an occasional plant went as much as 60 days, fwiw. Outside of Bodhi, and a TH Sage n Sour, I honestly can't remember any that ran much longer than in the descriptions, which is a factor I consider strongly when choosing bean companies.
just curious as to when you start counting flowering days? the day you flip, or something else?

I browsed your journal, and the first thing that grabbed my attention were the finishing times. 68 days was the earliest of the three, right? That's contrary to the FS I've run [52, 55, and 58[lazy] ], and the descriptions most every seller has of c-99 as an extremely fast finisher. I'd appreciate your thoughts on why yours were all 10 weeks + more or less. Thanks.
Honestly, its because I didn't know what i was doing.
When I ran her again i was taking them at 60 days and it was just about perfect. When I do them again i will be harvesting at various times(50-55-etc) to determine the "best" harvest window.

i'm not sure about when he's supposed to drop those gsc tbh mista, and i talked to dr gruber, and i don't think he knows too much either, but he'd be the one to ask about anything drgt's.

yeah, i've run a few things from drgt's in the past.. his the dope, a test grow for them... his ghost cut of og kush is so beyond bomb, it's still in my top five smokes to date.. good yields for an og hybrid, amazing taste and structure for an og, and a nice stone to it.. really is top notch imo..
ummm, i'm running his ecsd atm.. it's a nice plant.. hollow stems, lanky during flowering, but looks to be a nice yielder thus far, and getting pretty funky in the smell dpt... i got them as cuts though from a fine farmer friend..
umm, i'm growing a cut of rez's 4sd, which is chem 4 x ecsd, and this shit is so god damned loud, it's not even funny. omfg, this stuff is way loud... looks like it's gonna be a nice yielder, frosting up a bit now, and very loud. have i said it's loud yet? lol..

Nice, I've been wondering how good his kush strains are and how they compare to other companies. I'm glad you brought up his ghost cut as I've been eyeing that one for a while now. Heard the ghost cut is one of the different og's. Definitely going to give that one a try when I order my Cindy's. Does Rez work with DrGT? And where do you get his seeds? I've only heard good things about his SD crosses and really wanna try one out

Doc just posted on another site that the GSC are now available. I still don't see it on his web site but if you call you can get them now.

Just to clear things up bit. Doc only has 2 strains that are $200 for a 2 pack, G13 and Bubba Katsu. The G13 comes with 3 seeds per pack and the Bubba Katsu comes with 4. I know they are listed as 2 seeds per pack but he always throws in extra.

Anyway, I haven't tried the other breeders C99, so i can't say which is "best" but I do love Doc's and want to grow her again. I would say to this day she is still my favorite daytime smoke.

I feel like I put it the wrong way, I definitely think DrGT's prices are acceptable. I've just never seen 2 seeds listed for 200$, other than doggies nuts seeds. Which have only heard bad things about. 400 for a pack of beans?? Come on..

You're growing out the gsc now Gruber? I'm guessing they're s1's.. How is it going, find any keepers so far?? Is the line stable??

Sorry for all the questions, you guys got me excited as I thought I'd never find a legit cookies in seed form.

Never tried straight c99. My space queen was a STRAIGHT representation of a Cindy pineapple pheno though. I mean, your pics look like an exact replica of my pheno. Wish I didn't lose her as like you she was my all time favorite sativa smoke.

Lol, I was gonna ask the same thing Amos, those times seemed very unusual. Especially seeing as the bros Grimm is the original, the reason it's gained such a following is because its an amazing sativa with an 8 week window.

i ran the frost bro's c99 and pulled it at i think 9 weeks, and think they could have went longer still... idk, but i never have a plant ready when a breeder says it will be ready..
my $.02
I think alot of people just chop to early. The whole 'amber being bad' myth. I'm running docs headband which is ecsd x og kush- both strains that have 70+ flower times but it's listed on his website as being done in 55-65 days. Mine are roughly at day 60 and are packing on weight, foxtailing, and still throwing calaxys and white pistils. Looks like they could go 80 days easy even though most of the trichs are couldy. I know alot of people who would chop them now, but I like minimum 20-30% amber.

His bubba og is fantastic! bubba3.jpg so dense and absolutely covered in resin! I've heard really good thigs about his ghost cut too. I can't stress how impressed I am with his bubba og. The phenos I have range from a really sweet bubble gum to a deep coffee, all of them with an overpowering earthy/hash/fuel smell on top.

Yes, im growing it now..or actually I just chopped the last of it down yesterday. I had a test pack form Doc. They were the first batch he made and not ready for selling. There was some instability in mine as expected but i would guess he has that ironed out now. Its the Forum cut by the way.....

I only popped two out of the pack so i will do the others at some point and pick the best. So far the one i have is very nice and worth keeping for sure.

Can't agree more....
I think i was lucky enough to be the first to run Doc's BOG and ive been raving about it for years. I sure it will have a place in my garden forever.

Hey, what is your keeper pheno like? Does it finish/turn purple faster then the others? I swear I have 3 different phenos, lol. My really purple one looks like the winner, it's going to be finished quicker then the others, has mad purple in it(not that I really care about that, but other people love it), and looks like my best yielder. Smells great too-very hashy and sweet. Was curious if that sounded like your keeper.

I'd definitely say that it's all variable. How people setup their environment which makes the difference in what makes a pheno "special." Or finish fast or slow, or whatever.

Very nice man, that bud looks phenomenal. You smoked her yet?

Very nice, I was hoping it'd be the forum cut, not the thin mint or platinum or whatever. Can't wait till he releases it, as I've only smoked some cookies, can't wait to see what all the hype is about!

Only some premature larf I removed about a week ago. It was taken at roughly 50 days(counting from the first day of 12/12) and hung for about 5. Even that was some pretty strong medicine. With no flush and no cure it was all 'hash/kief' in the taste. I would put my premature nug of bubba og against any indica I've bought in the last year. I really think it's going to be something special, can't wait to sample a ripe bud that is flushed/dried/cured right.

I totally agree. I just think there are a lot of people who chop way to early. In my experience I ignore breeder times and wait until I have at least 20-30% amber to harvest, I've always been dissapointed when I harvested before that, that's just how I roll :)

Unless you've smoked what they chopped, you really don't know, do you?

I assume that one of the first things home growers study, after they've achieved vegging of a bean, is when to harvest. Who seriously wants to invest 12 weeks - 3 months - only to sabotage the effort by an early chop? I doubt many.

" Recommended for just the moderately-experienced grower this strain finishes flowering in about fifty days." - http://www.wikileaf.com/strain/cinderella-99/
