Dr60 looking to run 400w HPS

Ok so i've been reading around and I have yet to find a cooltube/aircooled reflector that will fit in my DR60 grow tent. It is 2x2 grow room. I'm looking to upgrade to a 400w HPS system when I start to flower. Most of of the cooltubes i have looked at were add least 25 inches long. That leaves me with negative 1 inches..... So if anyone runs a 400w HPS system in a dr60, please let me know how you keep it cool.

Side info my exhaust fan is only a 4" ducting size so i do have to add a 6" to 4" ducting converter.

Check out my threads, I run a 400 in my dr60 with an econowing and it's is great... I hope to pull 200 plus grams out of my tent this time... 2 weeks away from harvest! Wish me luck and I hope u find a solution. Also I have a lot of air movement inside my tent, it is actually hotter in my tent with the door open!!!!!!

Yeah i checked out your thread awhile back. I want to see some Pictures brother! Sounds like you are running a sick setup and i would love to see how you have things setup. For example where exactly do you put your muffler and how big is it. I'm looking to run an enclosed reflector because my temps get out of whack really quick and i'm only running a t5 setup....

Towelie is my role model, so i basically try to live by his standards. Yeah having a 2x2 area is a bitch. I dream of a 4x4 area one day, but i must move out of this retched apartment first. For now this 2x2 will produce weed "hopefully" and i can smoke to my content.

P.S Buy Your Cool Tube From A Reputable Supply Company.I Bought Mine Real Cheap From A Warehouse.It Cracked The First Day I Used It.Now I Have A Air Cooled Hood.Peace And Hair Grease bongsmilie

If I were you I would look into the super sun II hood. Very excellent hood with very even and powerful coverage. Cool tubes are ok but they do have their issues. It's pretty small to boot.

I agree, either that or the euro from htg. I believe it will fit in you tent but you would have to double check!

HTG sells cheap piece of shit Asian import garbage. If your goal is to spend the least amount possible, than yeah, eBay or htg is where you should look. If your concerned abou yield and longevity, then look for a name brand hood.

There are many ways to skimp on a grow, your hood and HPS bulb are the last things I personally would look for the cheapest possible. And I would never get a cool tube unless I planned to do a vertical grow. Just throwing it out there. For $30-50 bucks more you could get a solid hood

Cool tube are very inefficient, go with a CMH bulb it puts off less than half the heat of a standard HPS and the color spectrum is way better.

I run 2 250 watters with a wing type reflector on each in my GL 60 which is 2x2x5ft. They are all the way up to the top of the tent. As for cooling I made an airbox for the carbon filter so I can use it outside the tent. I'm running it with a 4" HTG fan. Check my journal link for some pics.

That is a solid link. That guy went all out in the testing. Ill be damn sure to get a sun system.

Seriously that carbon filter idea is genius! I would totally do something like that, if I had a bigger inline fan :). Seriously that probably saves you so much space and chaos in there.

It Made Feel A Hole Lot Better.I Bought The Super Sun.I Will Be Firing That Bad Boy Up In 5 Day's In A Cab that's 36x20x64 With A Passive Air Cool Only.I Will Let You Know If I Have Any Heat Issue's

Econowing reflector, greners.com super cheap and works like a charm in the dr60; just have an adequate cool air intake and temps stay neutral when tent is kept closed..... OR...... I also have a daystar ac and it fits too... You can put a small filter in the top of the tent> duct to daystar> duct out of tent > use 1 single inline to pull the air, leaving fan on top of the 6" port on top of the tent. The sides bulge out but it helps because the fan will create a vacuum in the tent and the walls do sink in, looks like spandex around the ducting haha. But there you go, I have tried both options and I run a 400 watt phantom in mine. I have 9 plants in 4 pots now and will harvest in 2 weeks, for my next grow I plan to try my first scrog, I hope to grow only 2 plants and have my 2x2 completely filled out evenly ... If you search "scrog" on YouTube a video named "400w hps 1 plant 450 gram harvest" comes up... That is the ideal situation for a small grower like me... That video is fucking amazing and I wish I could ask that guy or someone like him 1001 questions... I think that scrog is the way to grow but I havent done it myself so I am anxious to move forward....
