guys. i flushed my plant the other day for general maintainace and it hasnt recoverd the shock from this. the main stem is drooping and has been like this for 4 days. i dont know what to do, . i think the roots have rotten. please help!

i have taken many suggestions and transplanted the two drooping plants in new soil, with the reaction of them drooping even more. they still look a healthy green, however i am not seeing any physical signs of improvement in the sense that the main stem has drooped so much, its in a U shape and is pointing towards the ground!

It might be dead. I'd need a picture to say for sure but those symptoms sound well beyond the normal saver. Might be time to call it a loss and just start up a new crop that you love more.

The amount of time you would spend reviving that thing is probably more than it would take to start a new one and after all that stress it will prob be a male or hermie.

definately no water for like a week. soil drainage is the key to getting healthy plants. if your soil doesnt dry out every 3-5 days its not draining properly. this will give you what you have. i've seen this on a few of my plants and its always "heavy" soil.

just noticed what kind of pot is that plant in.
are there holes in the bottom?
i know it sounds funny but a friend gave me a plant that was dying and he was growing it in a tupperware container

In thirty+ years, I've never flushed a plant for general maintenance.

Wow,im glad somebody said that cause its what i was thinking, why on earth did you flush to start with ??,keep it simple & you'll have a much better grow with huge yeilds, forget 90% of the shit you read on web sites & just give them water with off the shelf nutrients, fert's like "Peters" brand or "Jacks" brand & use them sparingly & only once a month.

Flushing should be reserved for plants that are in OVER FERTILIZED SOIL or at the end of the grow which is purely optional & not needed at all.

Ok on to the dilema at hand, the plants look drowned to me,the problem looks like you have a tightly packed soil mix which is keeping the inner root ball wet & not allowing any fresh oxygen to reach the root mass, roots need oxygen & water is the delievery method, without fresh oxygen the plant will drown.

What you can do is this, take the plant out of the pot & lay the root mass on it's side, then get a very sharp butcher knife & cut away about 50% of the root & soil mass, after doing so gently roll the remaining root mass in your hands to loosen the mass & allow air into the root mass, transplant the plant into a new container using a fluffy mixture, make sure the pot has atleats 3 large drainage holes,if not cut your own holes.

Potting soil (non fertilized)....... = 40%
Top soil.................................= 20%
Perlite (non fertilized)...............=30%
Masons sand (not beach sand)...=10%

The problem with getting an overwatered plant that is growing in a tightly packed soil mix is that they rarely dry out & stay in a ball of mud, using tis soil mix i outlined it's next to impossible for the soil to become compact & remain wet for extended periods.

BTW,howdy Mr fishy, long time no type :blsmoke:

For those of you not this far gone yet (OP) manually digging around/poking bamboo skewers? down into your "staying damp too long/over compacted" soil/planter helps buy you some time and may give you another shot at not over-watering. Do this often.
Inside plants never die from lack of water, IMO.

Back @ Ya, Pan . . . I saw ya there right away. I hope you're back for a while.

yes the key to your problem is to let the soil dry a bit plants drop down like that from too much water like someone said befor dont water for a while till soil looks kinda dry
