Air hoses don't need to be light proof. The point where the airhose enters the pail may need a bit of tape over if it's at the top and directly exposed to light. Any line carrying nutrients like for RDWC needs to be light-proofed tho.Just wrapped them in electrical tape. I'll be picking up some black hose on the next run.
Coco has it's own PITA needs tho so I stick to peat based soilless blends like the ProMix HP I've used for at least a decade. Sunshine #4 in the decade prior to that but it needs a lot of added perlite where HP has plenty enough for good drainage. HP stands for High Porosity.I've been considering doing coco on the next grow, less worry about the res temps which is my biggest issue. Left plant has some yellowing on the bottom leaves. LOL the problems never end.
