Never tried it but it should work the only difference between wet/dry is that dry molasses has grain on the inside which they spray with molasses. It should work well in organic soil, do one plant with and one without.

put it on dry and just water as normal, because its dry its packed with nutes, and if you only get it wet when you water you release the nutes slower into the medium.

that is what i have read

how much is too much? for instance, i basically put a light coating over the top of the soil in a 4 gallon container, and plan on putting plenty of it around the ones in the ground. should i spread it thick or not?
Edit:
forgot to mention that i am putting it on dry, and just going to let the rain soak it down to the roots so that may make a difference in someone's assessment of how much i need to use. off the top of my head i'm thinking about a cup full around the plant?

im guessing you can use as much as you want to the "do I soread it thick or thin" really, because you can plant with it and for instance you might have more than a 4 gallon pot that your plant is in, so you would have to use more there.

just remeber to do a little pH test before you throw it so you know it wont burn your roots/plant and if its safe it will only be the water that does damage to your plant and thats only if you over watering.

hope thats helped :)

will do ^^^
spread it over the potted one the other day and am going to the grounded ones in a minute cause its raining now w/ no more predicted till end of next week!
right now i'm under the impression that doing this will add weight to the buds by making them more dense, and make them stickier. i hope that's the end result. anyone who's done it before and can verify those claims feel free to let us in on the benefits/non-benefits of using it. i'll be doing it either way this year, and intend on updating this thread as to what i think it did.

Yea, that may have been where i read about it at (on one of sub's threads). So, I didn't wait long before I harvested one of the potted girls (that i had spread the molasses over the top of the soil), so i can't say w certainty if it made the buds denser/stickier, but they were VERY sticky! They had already begun to be sticky BEFORE i started the molasses, but they did seem to thicken quickly. The other potted one.....I watered her the other day, and she's in one of those self watering pots (fail), that basically has a bowl on the bottom that holds water that drains off the plant (so as to reduce the frequency u have to water) and when the water hit the bowl, ants starting evacuating by the hundreds! Most of 'em were carrying pieces of perlite (i guess cause it was holding the molasses runoff) So just a little heads up about it attracting ants!

Okay, here's an update for anyone interested in this thread........after spreading dry molasses around each of my in-ground girls I have to say that every one of them definitely did show an increase in the amt. of resin on the buds. Every one of my girls has taken on the 'sugar coated' look! I would def. recommend this, spreading dry molasses around each girl, to any outdoor grower as a quick and easy method of finishing them off!
