I've been doing the jar thing for years. Learned it in the 60's and thought everybody did it that way till I join up with RIU.

don't put it straight in a jar after chop, bad idea. You will get mold. Let it dry first it's common knowledge. Once they are crispy on the stem, toss em in a jar. Let em sit for a week then pop the lid and they should be ready to smoke then. If you like, you can leave them in the jar for longer periods of time to bring out more complex flavors. I just read back. I put 1 bud directly into jar top off. Then put top on in a day. Then the rest. But the whole time there in a blacked out drying cabinet that I DIY

is that just one persons persona on this straight to jar ?? (grandpa) or what because i thought it was hung about a week then jared for two weeks as a curing process. let me know tho because i did just chop and hang today, so if what you say is true then id much rather do it that way!
hang em for a week? no way theyd be way to crispy dont ya think..all the moisture wud b out by then huh
