Also, making the slit won't hurt but I'm not sure it'll speed things up that much.
Change the water as frequently as you can, even refrigerate it. They don't like the water too warm.
Got cloning solution in your water?

I just changed the water I mix hormex with the water and dipped them in cloning gel before. checked the sprayer looks fine... a few of them look good..I'm noticing the stem is almost turning a whitish color?

Is it better to take your cuts from the lower part of the plant, the middle or near the top?
I don't think it matters a whole lot, I've had success taking cuts everywhere. I have read that the lower part of the plant has more hormones needed for rooting. Makes sense, but that's what rooting gel is for lol

I've taken from top, bottom, middle...with success. The thing i look for is a healthy cutting, more so than where i cut it from.

Hi Dubba,
You're grow looks stellar buddy. As far as your clones go, by observation were the cuttings you have from the flowering plants or from vegging plants?
I thought i saw buds in the tops of the clones. I have had great success cutting nearly anywhere, but i tried to keep a strain going that had flowered and those clones had the little white buildup before they rooted. Those clones didn't live. they rooted, but it took weeks to root. And now they are steadily declining to death i fear. On average you should get roots after 7-10 days, all i use is the rooting solution and water in the cloner. It's fail-proof in my opinion. I usually put them into cups when 2 little roots start at maybe a half inch long, mainly because i think a root mass would die while trying to pot it. So i like to get them in soil as soon as they peep. This has worked well for me. I hope this helps. Disregard any redundant info.
Peace:weed:

High nitrogen concentrations impair root development. Lower branches will put down feet faster than top branches because the tops have more nitrogen in the tissue. Tops will put down roots, they just have to use up some nitrogen before they can do it.

They were taken from a plant in veg, but I noticed they have some white hairs now on them!! I'm not sure whats going on. I checked my Veg tent and I have Barneys Farm LSD going the plants are about 22inches tall and they also have white hairs...Is the plant trying to force itself into flower? the lighting has been 18-6

dubba, how about a pic of what you are referring to? It sounds like you might be seeing what fools a lot of people. New growth can look like pistils coming out. But there's only like a couple in each site, right?

Hi Dubba,
Just let those girls shower, eventually they will sprout legs.
I mainly referred to pulling cuttings from a full flowering plant.
In my experience different phenos give hairs more quickly than others, Some do some don't.
I had a pheno that i grew from bag seed that eventually grew so big in flower that i wanted to keep the strain going, so i tried to get a cutting as it was finishing.
It didn't revert back. Although it eventually did root.

Ahhh Grasshopper, When you can take the stone from my hand, Your clones will have roots. XD XD XD

By the way guys, I read the Maine forum every day. It may not be the most spectacular forum in the world, But we have Lobster.
And i treasure the input you guys give. It's nice to know there is someone there eager to help.

What is the difference between an Accordion and an Onion?

No-one ever cried cutting up an Accordion.
Talk to you soon.

pic 2 and 3 you can kinda see how the whole stem is white.... last pic is where i cut the stem in half, probably to much and not very even.

Those white bumps will be roots soon, as long as the water isn't too hot. That really slows things down in my experience.
Yeah, slitting like that isn't really necessary. I just cut at an angle (while under water usually) and stick in the Clonex.

Hi Dubba,
The clones look very healthy, nice and green. They just need more time buddy.
Some of mine lose three quarters of their leaves b4 they root. I like to keep leaves at a minimum when cloning anyway.
I think it helps in root production instead of photosynthesis.
One thing is for sure, Time will tell.
Like tet i do not slit my clones either, but i do give nice long stems. Usually 3 inches under the sponge.
Good luck
