I've seen a bunch of DWC setups, in large rubbermaids and buckets mainly. My question is this... Can I do DWC in a shorter Rubbermaid container? Instead of the one almost everyone uses (that measures about a foot and a half tall), I want to use one that is about 9 inches tall (reference pics below, first pic is of the normal Rubbermaid everyone uses, second is of a short container that fits under a bed- I now I'll have to tape it up to make it light-proof- but that's ok).
I know that the roots will hit bottom pretty fast, and that nutrient solution will change ph and ec faster, but I'm prepared to deal with that. I just have a short grow space (it also tougher for me to get nutes, etc. so I'd rather throw out less when I change nute solution) and want to see it there are any major problems with root tangling etc.
Hope this makes sense... oh yeah, if the small container is to small for flowering, can I at least use it to maintain clones during veg?
Thanks
