i want to build a deep water culture setup that is big enough to house 4 plants about 3 foot tall. I plan to keep these under veg full time as mother plants to cut clones from. I have had thoughts of using a large tupperware tub that is 4ft long - 2ft wide - 2 ft deep. how many aquarium pumps would it need to be sustain the plants and root systems, or would it be more cost effective to get a $60 fountain pump from lowes hardware?
~also. if the root system fills the container enclosing it will it continue to expand or will it stop growing? I have a 6" plant in a yogurt cup with an individual aquarium pump and airstone. it is doing great but the roots are soon to fill the cup, and im also worried because it dosent look like there is much room for water in there with the root ball. there are bubbles but not much standing water.......
im new to this setup and im loving the results.... i dont even have hydro soloution in there. just well water and a bit of plant food and it shot right off..... any advice from experienced dwc users is most great fully appreciated.
