Early flowering…..

3 years ago, my plants (all varieties) started to flower when they were only 8-12” tall. Way too early. I made a post about it & found a little.

They grew with one-tipped leaves instead of 5-6. The buds grew up the stalks instead of the ends.

well, it’s happening again. I had just transplanted them into the larger pots & noticed flowers…..dang.

my question is: can I FIMM/prune with the flowers??? It doesn’t seem right, however if I don’t, they won’t get bushy & just grow straight up.

any advice?

You could fimm, not sure what would be the result. Are you growng autos? What is your light schedule? Where did the seeds come from? I did have a mutant Northern Lights once that grew single caylxes up 2 foot long stems, looked weird, the smoke was good, and the yield was on-par with normal yields, as I recall it was an auto.

No, not autos. It’s an outside grow, so natural light schedule . Since they’re outside, the schedule is the same yearly, so it makes no sense that this happened. I do keep them in a wire dog crate with hardware cloth (save from hail & small animals) & I’ve been concerned maybe it wasn’t letting in enough light.

When it happened before, I did get a fair yield, and, yes, the plants were weird. I can deal with it, but if I don’t FIMM, the won’t bush out.

Are you planting them at the right time?

There seems to be some kind of external variable causing this - if you're getting one finger leafs, then it sounds like the plants are going through some stress. This happened when my friend took a flowering plant from indoors, bought it outdoors to veg for a month or so, and then the season changed to flowering.

It depends on where you're situated in the world, and how much light you're getting.

Are they the same seeds / cuttings from your previous babies? Try to find a correlation. It's usually something easily over-looked.

I plant mid March, the same as I have for 40+ years. It‘s in Texas, so that is when we plant.

I‘ve tried different strains most years…. Since I’m relieving symptoms like nausea, etc, I don’t get stoned . so, I can’t tell the difference between them, except how easy they are. so…

This year, I’m trying LSD, California Dream & Crystal. The LSD & Crystal seem to have more flowers, but the California Dream has some too.

Well, it could be that strain is extremely sensitive to photoperiod and you planted too early, or somehow you got auto's instead of photos. For 6 weeks old, those plants are very small, so something is definitely not right. I'm north of you, but if I plant before early-mid-May my plants go into flower at just a few inches tall. In mid March in the Dallas area (don't know where you are and Tx is big) the photoperiod is not even 12 hours, in mid april it's about 13 hours, but you can discount the the 1st half hour and the last half hour as sub par light.

That's is what is going on lol, you can't plant outdoors before the equinox in the northern hemisphere. They should be going hard on the reveg already one would think. Something is up though with your soil or something cause they should be way way bigger than that. What you growing in?
