Electoral vs popular vote

It blows my mind how many people don't understand how our system works. Failure of education. The people that say it should be a popular vote would be the first to bitch when the majority went against what they want. In a true democracy, Slavery, 51% for=legal. Sex with minors 52% for =legal. Theft 50.5% for =legal. Discriminatory policies towards Caucasians 80% for=legal. .. see how that works?

please cite where you got those numbers. I would very well like to know how you came to your numbers...or did you just make shit up ?

I would bet my farm / ranch pays more taxes and employs more people than you do, feed more people than you, and work more hours.

I'm not happy with the results, but why would I move ? I'm going to stick around and make a change in 2 years then 4.
I think it will be somewhat enjoyable when Trump fails his voters. What is it do you expect from Trump? Lets get this down in writing.
 
This shit has me absolutely confused. ..so the person with the most votes doesn't win...why even call it a presidential election? In Canada when we have elections our votes actually count and we decide who wins...not some silly numbers game that doesn't reflect the actual winner...ya places with larger populations will get more votes Because they have more people! !! Why should areas with less population have just as many "seats" as places with double or triple the population? It's basically saying most votes don't really count....anyhoo I'm the first to admit I don't know shit about politics. ..especially American but I can't help but feel sorry for American people, picking between 2 horrible people must truly suck....and not having the person that the people voted in must suck even more....

His tax plan will lead to a massive increase in the national deficit, that is according to ALL the major economists in this country.
He will never get the jobs back lost to automation, period.

6,943,276...that is how many people in Canada voted for Liberals in 2015.
39.47% of the total vote.
That equates to 54% of the seats in Parliament, though. Are you sure your vote really counted the way you think? My vote only counted as far as my MP went.
