The digital timers are weird. Once the time and program is set you set them to auto the light will not come on if it is at an on time. Just leave it on auto and it will work on cycle. They willl only turn the lights on at the times set. Not when you switch the mode to auto. In other words.....set mode to auto when light is supposed to be off.

I use a digital timer and it can be complicated but its pretty easy what you have is options for multiple timers just use timer 1 set for 7 days and you'll have to set the on and off times , also the timer itself has a clock that must be set hope it helps.
