the salvation army has helped me in more ways then I can count. truly great organization, one of the few charities where you feel like the people actually care about you and aren't just there for a paycheck
My house burnt to the ground back in '93. All that was left was the clothes we had on,(and, surprisingly,my 1st bible that somehow survived without a scratch).Unbeknownst to me,one of my neighbors called the salvation army, and by the next day the SA sent a truck to my parents house next door.It was filled with clothes, food, and toys for my kids.
I donate every time I see their red kettle.Wouldn't be right not to.

That's their donation page. Not their home page.
The Salvation Army is a non-profit organization.Us giving to them, means they give to others. For all the good they do,I can tolerate a little bell-ringing.

i refuse to support the salvation army.
my mom was holding hands with her wife and we were all walking in the mall my mom and her wife walked up to the SA change thing went to go put a 20$ bill in there and the lady looked at her and said "the salvation army doesnt take donations from your kind"
we no longer support them but choose to donate somewhere else
Understandable. That would piss me off too. Apparently their mission statement doesn't apply to all their volunteers. It says they're to aid "without discrimination".
It's a shame really. From my perspective,of your online persona, they lost a great resource.
Glad to hear you're still donating elsewhere.
