Escobar's Lady Cane

Well I am tardy with this report but needed to wait until dried and cured to give a good report. I grew Lady Cane f2 which is no longer available from Sannie's except as fem seeds or with a cross like reclining budda.

Here is the short on the grow
Grown at 6500 ft above sea level in a wet windy condition and at 8.8 degrees north.
Grown in soil I make with compost made on the farm, native soil and everything organic.
The grow was a combo of lights and sun with most of the lighting being diffused over direct, where the sun is concerned.

Things to remember about growing here - plants grow much slower than at sea level, have less CO2, therefore are usually smaller buds than at lower levels. So weight and such of my grows will not be the same as other grow conditions.

Ok, Lady Cane f2

I had 3 phenos labeled Lady Cane, LC1, LC2 and two different males.
Lady Cane - the prettiest of the 3 and the frostiest of all. 90 days of flower here where as usually it runs 70 to 77 days at sea level.
The buds where nice size bigger than most other strains I have grown up here. They are not extemely dense, here again that is because of the climate. The plant grows tall and branchy with a typical sativa node spacing with many bud sites. The plant is somewhat nute sensitive and the first generation was good but not like the 2nd or 3rd after learning what she wanted and when she wanted it.
The smoke is great one of my all time favorites of strains made after the great mixing of indicas and sativas. The smell is citrusy with a slight touch of turpentine, and pine scent. I find it very appealling to the nose and it fills the area with a nice pleasant clean smell.
She held her leaves right up until the day I chopped her, it was easy to maintain the health of the plant throughout the grow ( 2nd generation on) first grow I had a little let down in the nutes and lost some color to the leaves but it came back easily with fish emulsion.
Ok the real low down on the smoke - she was air dried outside in deep shade for almost a month before she was put into cure jars. The smoke is so smooth and rolls down the throat so easily it is hard not to over toke. I smoke in a pipe and fell that is where this strain is the best or a bong. Joints tend to be hard to smoke because of the large amount of resin in the buds.
The high will hit you behind the eyes with the very first toke and get more intense with each. The body will sense a slow warming numbness with a light floaty feeling. The mind will stay alert and your toes will start tapping looking for something to do. I love this for my daytime smoke on the farm when I have small chores to do during the day. I tend to get confused and forgetful with her, making several trips to remember what I went to get:mrgreen:. Not to be confused with the oldtime sativas but surely has it roots planted in the past.

LC1 - The biggest of the 3 in terms of bud size and the least finicky of the 3. She starts off deep green and stays that way through 90 days of flower (90 days gave me about 80% milky 10% cloudy and 10% clear). She appears to be more of the G13 than of the sativa in her which was a nice surprise for me. She has nice dense buds, the most dense of many many strains grown here. The smell is of lemon, lime, pine and something I just can't put my finger on. She is like a good red wine with many hints of flavor mixed and one bud is a bit different than the next. The one constant is that it will flat stone you through and through. Great smoke for the quiet times during the day, walks or just being calm with someone you enjoy spending time with. Not a smoke for large groups but small gathering of good friends. I say this because it tends to make me a bit more withdrawn and reflecting on myself and things which need to be done. The wife likes it and allows her to watch TV with a smile and blank stare.:eyesmoke:
Also not a smoke to try right before bed or you will want to get back up and do something.
Rated a great daytime smoke, maybe a little stoney for machinery or intricate work. The high will last for a few hours and I find myself reaching for the pipe more often than other strains to maintain the high, and I might add the more you smoke the stoner you get unlike many of the strains of today. 3 pulls off of the pipe will allow you glide around the house or farm with a smile and sense of wonderment at your surroundings.

LC2 - All I can say about her is WOW. The smallest of the buds but the most potent also. This pheno has most of the that long lost sativa high. No tracings with this but all the giggles, munchies and total lost in your thoughts high. Super smooth, super sticky smoke. By the second toke the top of your head has the feeling of belonging to another person almost detached from your body. Great for the evening watching TV or when you just want to be alone in your thoughts. I get very confused and the wife tells me she has found me standing in the kitchen frozen, lol. Your brain tends to try and think of many things at once and then scrambling them around so now of it makes sense anymore. This is as close to the high I use to get from Panama Red has I have found in many years. The taste is smooth, lung choking without coughing your head off. She has the most lemon, orange taste with a lingering turpentine taste in the back of your throat. Not to say unpleasant, I find it pleasing with myself smacking my lips for a longtime afterward.

I would rate this as a must have of oldtimers that miss that sativas of yesterday. The flower time is reasonable almost short for a sativa dom strain, IMHO but the results are great. I have smoked and grown several of Escobar's strains and this is my favorite so far. She will be in clone with me and a major factor in my breeding program.
If you go to my sig you can see the different phenos.
Thanks Escobar and Sannie for this strain.

I have a couple lady canes in my flower room now. Of four seeds two were male and I tossed them. One of them is growing and flowering really fast and the others is way behind. I have all the time in the world and sounds like I am going to need it with this strain. Thanks for the comprehensive review.
