Yea so exaust blowing air out of the tent - straight into outside and have passive intake in say, the bedroom door which I would want a louver on it, no problem. Drawing in air from inside the house. Then dehuey inside the grow room. That right?

What would you do with bedroom intake, ac/heat vent depending in season?

Yeah that's right. Wouldn't worry about the vent.
 
I have two plants in flower and started using the dehuey again minimally at 45-50%. Need to figure it out soon, good ol 20% RH swings at lights out again. The room filled up with this cloriphyl smell and it got hot all night with dehuey running. Like 82F in bedroom instead of 68F.

The outside RH can get like 90% often and house RH rises to 70% or more depending on doors and windows open or like now, 70% for no reason other than high outside RH.

I am starting off trialing opening door and I guess I ought to build an exaust to outside and since door is old and beat up, it wouldn’t hurt to jigsaw a rectangle shape vent, for privacy. Or two 6” holes with louvers. I think it will work because when opening door, it cools immediately but meant in terms of how much harder dehuey is working.

For the rh spikes at lights off I used to supplement a 50w forced air heater pointing at intake from safe distance which narrowed the spike to 5-10%. But wow it got hot, might look into how often than not that grows suceed with those spikes to no mold which I do see often people saying it is under estimated but more often that it doesn’t ruin the grow.
 
Working in setting up according to this thread will update how it goes. Turns out I NEED to vent outside due to mars hydro lights running 1000 degrees. Even on 25%. Temps in room like 85F and the same or more in tents.
 
hahaaa I got it set up and its working which means room has negative air pressure now. I can feel cool air coming through the louvers. Rather not show photos as its too detailed to show if you know what I mean. Privacy.
 
Oh my goshhh as time goes on temps and rh dropping and dehuey just chillin not givin a hoot. Thanks yall for the suggestion, thread complete. Dehuey in room, holes in door, exaust outside. Just looks like an ac unit and might as well be!

I eventually learned how deheuys work and wow, when it heats the air back up it might as well have a dial to take advantage of it turning air ice cold, but perhaps that IS what an AC unit is.
 
Still working even with 70% rh in the home where the air is drawing from. Dehuey did not seem to work any more or less hard. Is off more than on. Nice that it is a 4500 square foot dehuey or dehuey meant for small humid rooms. Even if it is over kill, the ease of use is nice. Probably partly why it doesn’t have to work hard.

The room could be habitable during day and night. In fact this seems to be a great idea just for general comfort, you can read about how this is nothing new and infact done for similar reason. Is mostly done for closets though and area needing be vented for what ever reason. This seems to equalize temps so no need to touch ac or heat.

I have not ran it past 25% on lights yet but will be upping to 50% soon as plants are ready for it. I think this is still the best setup I made with yalls help because the tents are too cold. All of them.
 
It was a night mare before this. Dehuey on all the time and blowing hot air out, room too hot. AC needs be on all the time.

I think a bonus is due to negative air pressure, I can use the room to harvest and trim. I would be mindful of checking the exaust duct weekly or so to make sure filter is working. They can last a while but need to know soon as it don’t work which youll smell it.

I had my filters for 1.5 years but not always active but people say they had theirs for years with constant use with it still working. Vivosun.

I think another bonus is so long as a veg tent doesn’t run hot, you can vent into same room and use the main exaust as a filter. For example I have a space cabinet that can vent into same room to be filtered out. I have a flowering plant in a 2x2 no filter but needs be taken down. Just a way to save a filter.
 
What would yall recommend for dust control? I ask because you simply cant use any air filter it will restrict too much air. There are some builds I saw with an air filter for like a car or something. Something that still passes alot of air.

I think removing carpet would help and wanted to anyway but shoot, taking all this down and back up will be a pita. Now that I have this build for exaust and passive air, would a air purifier do any good since air from untreated source is still coming in or would I need to add some kind of filter to that too?

My carbon filter dust filter is concerningly dirty too soon. Shoot I hope dabbing in the same room wont wear it faster. So I worry about dusty weed, I am trying to get the best quality with this build.

How would you hook that up to the tent and duct louver? Just cut it and tape it over? I heard a panty hose can make a huge difference alone, was going to start there since it doesnt restrict too much flow.

Yes it can be washed but don't use fabric softener or anything with polymers meant to change the textile feel. I'd use just a basic detergent. If you have so much dust you have to dust it off you might have bigger issues with air quality to address.

I think it is the carpet. I set up a month ago and its pretty dirty already. The carpet is old, dirty and just needs be torn out for hard floors. I harvested a couple small plants in same room and they seem to be clean. My house aint dirty but its a little old.

Can you put plastic or tarps down? I'd sanitize the environment and seal shit off or get rid of it.

What you mean, like on the floor? or make a separate lung room? I think itl do better if I take the carpet out and re do the floors as is.

For example a fan out in another room isnt as dirty as the same one in the grow room in a certain amount of time. The grow room isnt as well cleaned out but even if it was the carpet is just done for, trapping load of dust isnt it?

Not sure what else to do.

I was going to make the grow room sanitary later on, right now I am just jumping into things getting things down then will nuke the place by redoing floors and walls and staying on A game keeping it clean.
 
Make a corsi rosenthal filter box, and set it in your lung room. Even with dirty carpet, it should drastically cut down on the dust (skin flakes, pollen, mold & PM spores, mite shit, dander.. you know, all that good stuff..) that would otherwise settle over everything, including your flowers and carbon scrubber pre filters, etc.. Almost as good as hiring a house maid to come dust that room for you all the time. ;)

 
My tent exhausts out a small basement level window. I have a humidifier in the tent, then dehumidifiers in the room outside. No problems. I run two fans for the ventilation system, I have an intake fan that sits outside the tent and brings air in from the 'lung room' the ducting that is attached to it has MERV13 fabric over it to remove any dust or other contaminants. You can buy a large sheet on amazon pretty cheap then just cut to size and attach. The only very slightly tricky bit is that I have the two fans (intake/exhaust) set up so that the intake is always running one notch below the exhaust, that helps maintain negative pressure in the tent.
 
Intake screen was caked shut with dust. Louver on bedroom door has a small layer of dust on it so the air outside of my room is dusty too appearently. That sucks, I didnt realize I had a major quality issue but my last weed harvested was totally fine.

Will have to do something at some point, maybe not idk. I know I want the carpet gone but then I have to take everything down and out the room and back in but it sounds worth it. Im not a dirty person, Im lazy and the least clean but I keep up, my room mates are neat freaks. This is kind of embarrissing but its the house, its old.
