fan on reservoir

Do you bubble your res? When I was running a bubble system my air pump was adding too much heat. I put a fan on my air pump and my temps went down. Insulating your res can also keep it cooler longer. I prefer cooler roots over chlorinated water. I can taste the chlorine in the product.

The compressed air definitely adds a lot of heat. Much better to waterfall or floom your res.

Also, I wouldn't pre dilute H2O2 as it is less stable that way sitting on the shelf. Keep it from light (thats why the bottles are brown) light breaks it down faster. I think UV catalyzes the decomposition reaction.

The 3-percent hydrogen peroxide solution you can buy for use as a disinfectant typically has a shelf life of at least a year and up to three years if the bottle is unopened. Once you break the seal, the hydrogen peroxide will last 30 to 45 days at peak effectiveness, with about six months of useful activity.

Thats assuming no light exposure.

Thats from google.

i tried the fan thing. ill say yes it did bring the temps down by a few degrees but it also killed my roots because they dried out due to the air movement in the res. i didnt expect it to work but though id still try while waiting for my delivery for h2o2 to arrive.

due to my roots drying out i had to cut them back to the rockwool block. now im facing a new problem. the rockwool blocks are packed with roots but now has none going in to the water and my air stones are flicking water up and making the rockwool blocks very wet. should i turn my air pump off and go back to top feeding until new roots grow down to the water. or just lever it alone till they grow and let watcher flick up in to the rockwool

Gonna have to get the rockwool to dry out some more. As long as it's soaked the roots are gonna stagnate
