FFOF / MC Experiment

After reading through Budzbuddha's FFOF thread I decided to do an experiment with my Barney's Farm White Widow XXL Autos. This will be an outside grow. I mixed FFOF with about 20% more perlite and am using 3-gallon Smart Pots. The plant on the left was started inside in a peat pellet about 10 days ago and transplanted today. I started another seed today in the pot on the right directly in the soil with a coke bottle dome. My second seed didn't pop inside and I kind of wanted to see if I can start a grow directly in FFOF. The plant on the left will only be top dressed in FFOF throughout the whole grow. The plant on the right will be top dressed but also fed with MegaCrop using the exact instructions on the packaging. I'll be using tap water only. We will see what happens.

Post if you'd like. I'm interested in advice or encouragement.

Sounds like a good experiment but I'd go bigger than 3 gallons in the pot size for outdoors. Depending on your environment you might be watering twice a day in the heat to keep them from drying out. The bigger pots will benefit them regardless if they're auto or photoperiod strains. Best of luck with the grow!

I thought about going up to 5 gallons but that’s what I had on hand. I haven’t had an issue with my 3 gallon smart pots outside but I’m home most of the day and check on them often.

I'm new to this forum, apologies for interrupting thread.....I'm a fairly new grower in 3 gallon fab pots FFOF w 30%Perlite and 2 tspsp langbeniete. Of has practically zero K. THIS HELPS!!
It's hot for seedlings, still works....first month veg no nutes
BUT.......I'm transplanting from3 g to 7 gallon she's just about to flower. After a week of her settling in, should I start feeding her 284 bloom??? But at a low dose? Big plants could use more nutes. I be safe???

Always appreciate my fella pot heads
