Final thread, promise. Any changes I need to make before I buy?

I am feeling more ill than usual and not in the mood for an argument, and I can easily see this going down that route but whatever. Different strokes for different folks. When someone can show me with results how much of a difference a % in efficiency that's within any margin of error makes such a huge difference in a grow then I'm all ears.

I have (4) 3590's lighting the fuck up out of a 3X3 and it's more than enough light. You want to put the same in a 2x2............you say you're on a budget......etc.....etc........ Remember, there's more than one way to skin a cat, and at some point you have to stop arguing about efficiency and buy some shit and grow a plant right.......

Buying 3590's to push them soft seems pointless to me. Buy 3070's for that or look to Citizen. But to call a 2 COB 3590 light sub par solution is actually hilarious. We have a board sponsor who sells the crap out of 2 COB light setups and they're meant exactly for the space you speak of:

https://northerngrowlights.com/collections/all/products/photon-180cd-led-grow-light-1

And there are various grow journals on here by folks using that light with the different brand COB's too. His Vero light at $299 is a steal right now, I do not think you could build it with the same components for the price he's selling it for.

I would look to get 2 COB's, Either 3590's or Vero 29's your choice and run them 80 watts plus a piece if it was me. You could get away with two pin heat sinks one driver two cob's the optics of your choice and a dimming knob and call it a day. If you went Cree I'd say 3500K on the COB's and 4000K on the Vero's. Why clutter up such a small space with extra gear that doesn't need to be in there to make it work.

Just my opinion anyways. We are all entitled to ours right :bigjoint:
Cheers
I don't know enough about leds to have a proper argument with you, so you don't have to worry about that :P I'm just saying that compared to 4 3590s 2 3590s would be sub par right? But I would much rather buy a pre build setup, but I'm in europe, and a majority of them are from USA sadly. I had checked out the one you linked. But if you're saying 2 3590s would cover 2x2 sufficiently, I might consider that. I just fear that the edges would get very little light?

Cheers

Doubt we could get into a proper argument about this, seeing as I know very very little about LED's ^^

Not looking for an argument friend, just posing another viable solution and trying to save you some $$$ is all. If you like those lights send them an email they will ship to you, he can get you a quote.

As for the COB's, if you run the two at higher watts each but the same watts total as running 4 then what is subpar about it? :bigjoint:

The coverage would be sub par? Wouldn't it? Like if I have a cob in each corner of the tent, vs having 2 in the middle.. the par readings in the corners and edges would be worse with 2.. Even with the same watts total, don't you think? ^^

Also the problem isn't the shipping so much.. It's more the American plug :/

Plug is easy you can cut off the american one and screw on a new one for your area lol.

Did you check the par charts on the lights linked they're at the bottom of the pages

Didn't know it was that simple.. But then again, why shouldn't it.. They probably use a driver that supports both.. And yeah, the par readings are impressive.. But, would it be a noticable difference from the cxb3590 and the vero? Thanks a lot for the help..

3590's are rated to like 130 watts each. So running them at 75 or even 100 watts shouldn't be an issue, you just need to deal with cooling.
