Ther is NO WAY YOU SHOULD OR TOP YOUR AUTOs!!! They flower in week 3 or 4 so def not enough time to recover and bounce back!! What i do is def gake a few of the bottom UNDER leaves off so the plant can use its energy to push up and use all energy for bud production!! Just make SURE YOU DO NOT REMOVE LEAVES THAT ARE NEEDED!!!!!!! SO THINK TWICE BEFORE PRUNNING ANYTHING WITH YOUR AUTOs!!! I havent heard much of anything with hermy problems though!!?! Only thing I have heard is that when growers have inconsistant temps and so on they will produce herms and every strains gonna produce a herm here or ther!! Its like my 2 Skunk Mass Autos, on grows like a pure sativa and the other shows more indica trates!! Sooo just like having babies everyone will be a tad bit diffrent.I can only give u some of the basic "tips" but I'm no pro..
Supposedly autos are more susceptible to stress. a lot of people recommend not transplanting them, n planting directly in the final pot from the start. You can use the tiered method with a solo cup if u really want to start n a smaller pot, n just cut off the bottom of the cup n bury it partially in ur final pot later to create a relatively stress free transplant scenario.
The main diff of course is you don't need to induce flowering with 12/12 like you would with a photo. 18/6 and 24/7 (well...24/0) are common photoperiods used for autos n they will "automatically" start flowering regardless.
Some say 3 gallon pots are as big as you need to go with most AF but others claim better results with larger pots. Probably varies with strains so you will want to experiment with diff sizes to figure out the optimal pot size for the strain you choose.
I've heard you should feed them less than photos but you can also start feeding sooner than you would with photos.
They are also supposed to be more prone to hermy out but some growers have grown dozens of autos without ever getting a herm.
The veg period on some autos is too short to recover from serious training n topping, but some have had great results with topping autos when they time it right - doing it early - so the plant can come back strong before flowering begins.
Just a couple pointers from my research on them - take it with a grain of salt as u should with anything you read online. Good luck
Well if they are more prone to stress / stressed easier and stress can induce Herman than in theory they'd be more prone to herm out right?Ther is NO WAY YOU SHOULD OR TOP YOUR AUTOs!!! hey guys no topping got done. lst been started. I do want honest opinions on this tho. I have the option of picking up a 225 led panel from a friend. he upgraded and I could steal it for less than 30 bucks. I looked it up on line just don't know a lot bout them due to me growing with cfls right now. it will fit in new case which is 2x3x1.5. tell me what u think. I don't wanna waste money thx
a stable auto is less prone to hermiWell if they are more prone to stress / stressed easier and stress can induce Herman than in theory they'd be more prone to herm out right?
Is it a full spectrum LED??hey guys think I did my reply in wrong spot. lst is done. no topping. now on to my real question. I got a new box. fans are in. scrubber is in. now to lights I got the opportunity to basically steal a 225 led panel from a friend that's upgrading it will fit great and all works fine. let me know the opinions on it never dealt with led as im new and using cfl for first time thx
If its NOT A FULL SPECTRUM THEN WHATEVER IT IS THAT HE HAS NEEDS TO BE USED IN CONJUCTION WITH A FULL SPEC LED!!! THEY WONT GET THE PROPER LIGHTING NEEDED TO GRO BRO!!!!! THE lightvthat xomes out of my red led panels is not as much as 1 SINGLE LED ON MY FULL SPEC!!!it does. I am needing a bigger box so I came up with one. and wanted to get away from using a lot of cfls and go with led. my buddy says his 225 led panel is mine if I want it. my question is its only 14w would that be enough, please keep in mind only one plant at a time for personal use only thx
