Yo what's up peeps. I started my first ever grow on Aug 31 and along with browsing the forum and asking questions I figured a journal would be a good place to log the grow and get comments/suggestions/advice. So here we go.

My Setup:

-Secret Jardin L90 Tent(3x2x4.5ft)
-Advanced Platinum P300 LED
-iPower 4 inch inline fan and Carbon Filter
-2 oscillating fans
-2 10 gallon smart pots that were cut down to about 5 inches tall to help promote short bushy growth
-2.5 lbs of Kind Soil on the bottom of the pots and the rest filled with FF Ocean Forest
-RO water from local pet store with Cal/Mag added.

Set up my tent in my garage on Aug 29.

Germinated the seeds around Aug 30.

Dropped seeds in solo cup on Aug 31.

Sprouted from dirt on Sep 1.

Transplanted from solo cup to smart pot on Sep 12.

Currently day 15 from sprout.

I think I want to top these and then scrog. Do they look ready to be topped?

Do you think it's possible to get 4-5 zips with this tent and light setup?

I guess I should add that my intentions for growing are personal. I would like to find a balance of yield and harvest time. So basically I would like to get the most grams/week of harvest. If that makes sense.

I run through about 7 grams/week and would like to be able to have a grow schedule that keeps me stocked on that rate until the next harvest

I kinda rushed into just buying seeds and starting. I'm open to suggestions on how to achieve my goal (5 plants in 1 gallon pots SOG or 1 plant in 5 gallon pot scrog etc)

Went to water the plants and noticed one has a few yellow/orange/rust spots on it.

I tested the runoff and it was around 7.25. Tested the water I use and it's at about 6.2. Should I continue watering with 6.2 in hopes it drops the PH? Could this be the cause?

I also have little gold/yellow gnat looking things on the leaves.

Went to local hardware store and picked up neem oil extract. Gonna try spraying that once a week and see how it goes. Will report back

While I was there I also picked up 3/4 inch pvc pipe, some elbows, and 18 gauge wire to start building a scrog. Will post pics of that when completed. Hopefully my babies will last until then

Can my plants come back from this??

I mixed neem oil, hand soap and warm water. Sprayed the plant and under leaves. Checked back about 4 hours later and still those little worms all over. Picked off all I could find

Yes your plants can come back. You may need something stronger than neem oil. I use a neem oil mixed with B12 in a spray as a preventive measure during veg. As far as your PH question I would balance my ph lower than your target ph level, law of averages or something like that. Keep up the good fight.

The plant is still strong it's just the leaves she can recover just take care of those little crawlers and ak_mili just gave an example of a pesticide you could use that could also work. But do not throw away keep growing them

I sprayed with neem oil/soap mixture then 2 days later with a BT spray. Also have been keeping diatomaceous earth on top layer of soil. It has helped a lot. Haven't seen bugs in a day or two.

Update.

It's been 2 weeks since I noticed the larvae problems. I sprayed the plants every 2 days for the first week, alternating neem oil mixture and BT. Now I have only sprayed once with each spray since then. I haven't seen any bugs since.

I have a friend who just took clones. I'm getting impatient waiting for my plants to fill the tent so he kindly gave me 2.

The clones are Scotts OG, an indica dominant hybrid.

They had been in the cubes for about 5 days. I let them sit under my garage T2 fixture and 2 days later they had roots showing.

I transplanted them into about 2 gallon containers and threw them in my tent with a container over top of them.

My plan is to let these acclimate for 2-3 days. Take the containers off and then add my scrog net. Let them veg into the net for 7-10 days then flip.

So to recap. I have 2 Chocolope fem from seeds and 2 Scotts OG clones.
