Here is my AK48, (also called 'Fat Ass') right before being moved into flower, and again just six days later. She has stretched alot already...


Here is the Short Rider before start of flower, and then after a six day stretch.


This is the AK48 that is already half way through flower. You can see the increase of buds in the last six days. I can't wait to see her top (Fat Ass) at this stage of flower!


Short Rider at 4 weeks flower, and at almost 5...she's budding nicely for a little 18 inch plant.

All look good, keep up the great work, nice and healthy!

Thanks Chief! They seem to be budding good for this stage - still have another three weeks to go, so I hope they continue as they have been...
The AK has been dropping small fans on the lower level, but you can't see that in the pics. They fade gradually and go yellow, so I'm pretty sure its just sucking N for the bud growth. I've been adding some higher N feed with the bloom nutes to try to stave off any more leaf loss, and I'm also using molasses on almost every feeding. Fat Ass is in a major stretch mode but she's keeping green for me so far. I hope she buds like crazy since she has so many tops - I think twelve or more at last count! I'm liking the lst...

I got 3 ounces of nice buds from these two plants.

So hey, even though that CFL isnt a Daylight bulb it is still fine for growing? I was going to do 35w(100w) daylight twist cfls - I see the lumen output on the 300w's you showed me are over 4500 - are there the proper spectrum to flower the plant also? I do not have, not want to run a HPS or MH bulb they cost a lot of money lol..

TinyGrow - You want a daylight bulb for vegging (6500k is best, but I think you can go down a bit lower). You switch to 2700k-3000k cool white bulbs for the flowering. I did my first grow using 8 of the daylight 23watt 6500k, and then 8 of the 42watt 2700k cool whites when I switched to 12/12. I added a few T5 single strips to fill in for side lights - they are 3000k and can be used all the way through if you need a little boost here and there. The CFL bulbs I used were just 100 & 150 watt equivalents.

I vegged for a full 8 weeks so I could get the most out of them. CFLs won't grow her as fast as HID lighting, but if you give a little more veg time, they'll get the job done well enough. I started my first AKs at 24/0, but only did that for a week or so - then I read that it really wasn't likely to make much difference in growth, so I finished veg using 18/6 until switching to flower 12/12 for 9 weeks.

Here they are a few days ago...have not had a chance to do new photos yet. The older gals are adding bud and plumping up nicely! AK seems to be using alot of N, as she is still fading and losing leaves, even though I've been adding veg nutes to try to keep her greener. Short Rider is much better and only losing some color at the very bottom level. I thought she might go faster than the AK, but her buds are so fluffy looking and the hairs are very long and white, compared to the AK that has a majority of brown hairs now. I think the AK is 28inches, and Short Rider is about 18inches.

Fat Ass is still stretching enough that I have to raise her lights a bit every few days. I counted her tops when I dragged her out for her photo - 25 of them! She is at least 24 inches tall so far, and probably a foot and a half wide. I've decided her theme song should be 'Fat Bottom Girls'... Sure hope she packs on the weight like a college freshman! Shorty is doing pretty good too, although she's living in the shadow of Fat Ass, so she may have a complex before their time as roommates is through.

Hey Manditroy you are right, Shorty needs a new name because she's not short anymore You got both the AK and Short Rider looking great with all those buds and fat colas. I sure their off springs will do as well if not better than their mothers How long has the AK and SR been flowering? Look at the size of those colas, it takes a lot of N to feed those babies

The AK and SR moms just finished their 6th week in flower (about 2 or 3 more to go)...their cloned tops are at 2 weeks now. I'm trying to time things about 4 weeks apart so that I keep a perpetual harvest going about every month or so. When the two older girls are out of the flower closet in a couple weeks, I have 3 more AK clones ready to take the space they've vacated. Once those reach the 4th or 5th week, Fat Ass and Shorty should be finishing up and making room for the Master Kush, Northern Lights and Blue Mystic that are still babies in veg now. I need to decide what comes next...lol

Hey Mandi, you got the same type of system I want to have going when I move into a house. Just a small personal perpetual grow, with a harvest going every month I don't won't to every buy weed again. In less than a month you will have some AK and Short Ryder weed to add to your weed pantry I can't wait to see how the Northern Light, Master Kush and Blue Mystic grow for you. I have not experienced any problems with smell of the Master Kush yet and they have been flowering for 40 days I got 10 Freebies from Nirvana and they are an assortment of seeds. Once I move, I can start 2 of the Freebie seeds to see what I got.

I'm still tweaking things in my flower and veg setups - could have a bit more room for extra plants if I made the effort to empty out the other half of the closet and put in the other lights I have. I'm lucky to have a corner of a spare room that I can keep my vegging babies away from the budding ladies. It's a bit of a ghetto setup, but it's getting the job done for me. The Northern Light and Master Kush are only on their 4th and 5th sets, but they've finally taken off in the last week and are making good progress now. I just gave Blue Mystic a bigger pot, where she (!!!?) will stay until I move her into the final 2.5 gallon bucket. There is a week and a half age difference between BM and the other two babies, but since the BM had a phase where she seemed to stall growing, there isn't a whole lot of size difference. I'm still deciding if I'm going to top them all - I don't want to cut them since they're finally getting some height, but topping allows me to clone the part I cut off and have a copy of the plant (and I sure want TWO of each instead of just one, if I end up with girls). The Blue Mystic just HAS TO BE a girl this time, so I'm pretty sure I will top it soon - and probably lst her clone, so I can get it big and bushy like Fat Ass...
