First grow - Auto Ultimate & Tha Shiznit

The soil I'm using is BioBizz Light Mix, which should be light enough on the nutrients not to burn the girls, but apparently not. It was suggested during weeks/months of reading guides like this
https://www.reddit.com/r/Autoflowers/comments/20b591/a_simple_guide_to_growing_autoflowers_in_soil/
The soil was new, not got the packaging to find a production date though. Think next auto run (maybe in a week or so) I'll be changing soil/medium. Possibly coco coir, I'm a little scared though, haha.

I'll ring a couple hydro shops today, get a little advice on increasing potassium. Or may consider a feed with 1/8 strength nutes, think 1/4 might just shock them a bit.

I know nothing.

Sick.

I have ran pretty much all autos, and even tho I'm new, I started with a heavy/hot soil. Fox farms ocean forest, then I started a couple in roots organics. Never seen a bit of discoloration like your experiencing. Didnt feed for about 3-4 weeks in the ffof then hit em.with a qrtr strength, 2 weeks of straight water in the roots organics and then a full strength feed. I'm unfamiliar with biobizz since I haven't used it. I'd try flushing it just to be safe, then hit her with at least 1/8 strength. Whats the nute your planning to use? And if u switch mediums next run, try something like the roots organic or ffof. Haven't had a single issue with it thus far.

Hey Sick, the new growth on Shiznit seems to look alot healthier.
Unfortunately the ultra kush seems to have taken on the same dark color.

I have seen growers do very well with biobizz light, and swear by it.

This guy, beast27, is one of them.
He may be able to give you some info. It's worth a shot.

Just leave a message on the journal link and he, or someone might shed some light for you.

Good luck!

Really not sure what I'd be going for. I assumed Ocean Forest was waaaay to hot, but I'm gonna check out your results with it. Dont think my local hydro has Fox Farms or Roots Organics, mainly stock Canna, BioBizz and some other brand. She was recommending Canna Professional. Anyone have experience with this?

I think I'm gonna flush and nute tomorrow, that will have given the soil a chance to dry out since last watering. If I've got 15ltr air pots, do I need to flush with 45ltr (3x volume) water? Will I have to wait for the soil to dry out again before feeding nutes? I also dont want to give them too much water when I feed, so what volume would I put into a 15ltr airpot?

Sorry for the abundance of questions. I just want to do shit right, and if I don't ask, I don't learn.

Thanks a lot, gonna scour your content now!!

Maybe you just got unlucky and got some "weak" seeds.
anyways Hope your plant makes a speedy recovery
I hope not man. The fact they're both showing this dark green, I wonder if I got a nitrogen rich batch of soil or something. The seeds were from pick and mix, and from decent breeders, so fingers crossed they sort themselves out.

That guy isn't messing about! He's also making me want LEDs, lol. Better start saving. I'll maybe sign up to 420 magazine, and drop him a message.

Yeah, he is the reason I topped my first 2.
It's tough to argue his methods when he is pulling that kind of weight with autos.
He's a super cool guy to boot.

In regards to your flushing question.
You can add nutes to water at the end of flush. 1/4 strength?
Then, obviously, wait til dry again.

My youngins, Rheba & Alice. My nephew named them, haha.

29 days today.
I have done some LST to open up some more tops. I will let them stretch a bit before I do any more.
Now it will be a fight for who gets to hog the light.

Looking good man. When do you start low stress training dude? I'm eager to start, but my girl needs a bit more vertical height I think. I can maybe start just teasing her to one side, and open up a bit. Dont wanna annoy her too early though.

Agreed. Annoying too much is no bueno.
I start LST when 3rd node comes. I use pipe cleaners and hook the top and gently bend her, not much, and recomended after a watering so she's pliable, then I tuck the other and under the lip of my pot.
Every other day or so I pull a tad more. I want as many to tops as possible. And I will pull when needed to even the canopy.

Right now mine are too bushy but I feel the LST has to be done asp to achieve what I'm looking for, due t I the quick flowering. Once she has started to bud, I am done. That's the way she will remain.

So...

SHORT STUFF SEEDS - THA SHIZNIT
DAY 16 FROM SPROUT

Looking good. Well, she was, before a good flush and feed. Now she's looking like a fat girl that pushed herself too far at the all-you-can-eat buffet. Think she needs a nap. But, she's all flushed out now, so hopefully no nitrogen or salt build up. Also fed with 1/4 strength grow nutes. Fingers crossed for her. Getting a bit more height, really wanna start low stress training soon!

TH SEEDS MK ULTRA KUSH AUTO
DAY 8 FROM SPROUT

Yeah, still hanging in there. Leaves are growing at their own pace, couple of new leaf tips poking out. Decided not to flush/fees until she hits the 2 week mark.

General changes to my setup :-

Changed light cycle to 20/4
Swapped timers about, so extract fan comes on only when lights are off, to keep humidity up.
Oscillating fan on whenever lights are on to keep air moving and cool tent.

I'll be checking temps and humidity periodically through the day. We'll see how things go!

I don't recommend exhaust off when lights on. Lights off, sure. If you are having humidity issues there has to be a better way than depleting co2. If you have the $ to spend you could get a variable speed/temp control for your exhaust fan.
The only way I see this to be productive is if you are manually turning on and off all day. Air exchange during lights on are more important than a little more RH, imo.

I've got oscillating fan running with lights on, and all three intake vents are open up, along with a vent at the top of the tent. My thoughts were this may be sufficient to drag cool, fresh air in at the bottom, push warm stale air out of the top. I'll be in the tent more than usual today, so I'll try and keep an eye on temps and humidity.

Fingers crossed.
