woke up this morning and the cab was up to 90 where the thermometer was. Think I need another small fan in there for air circulation and it will be fixed though. It was directly below the left lights so there wasnt much air moving around...
yes sounds like u need more air

Ya, the thermometer was in (what felt like) a lil heat pocket. Added a fan to the otherside so that the air is at least circulating; put the thermometer in the same spot that it was at 90 earlier, gonna see how it is in an hour or so. It already dropped to 84 after i moved it into the other pot (previously closer to the first fan on the right). Can't really fit much more in the box...

Pics:
The fan on the right was already there, the fan on the left corner was just added. The hot spot this morning was in the back right corner of the left pot (underneath lights and exhaust... it makes sense) Hopefully this fan will push that hot air towards the center and up towards the exhaust.

And pics of plants B+C sharing a pot (ya ya, bad idea but i didnt want to get rid of a healthy sprout and had no more room for a 3rd pot... WAY underestimated the size of them). B was fim'ed about 10 days ago (notice the many tops) C was the runt of the group but is now catching up quite well.

haha you changed your thread on me.. no wonder i couldnt find it. IC your carbon filter now.. what an awesome design. But you might have the same issue you had before with the other filter. What if you just put another exhaust fan.. that would probably help with temp.

I've been thinking about doing something like that. There's not much room though. I think temps will improve as i raise the lights (closer to exhaust) as well. Less hot air will be trapped and fans can blow up, not down. I'm not too worried about it as the temps are just barely above what they should be. They drop down to 70-75 at night with lights off and around 80 with lights on.

make sure light is at plant level and that fan isnt blowing right on in

and 80 isnt end of world i have got away with 90 not ideal but not death to plants

i moved the fan so its directly below the exhaust, it seemed to work a little better. what do you mean i should have the fan blowing right on in?

Ah, okay. Honestly... you're probably right about it being a false reading but not from the fan. It's one that does it off of light somehow and it said specifically to not have it in direct sunlight... I plan on getting a new wireless one with humidity soon just gotta wait for another paycheck.

And yea, im okay with the temps being 90, it was a hot day and it wont stay like this for long. Worst comes to worst i just have to rethink my filter. The exhaust fan is probably at like half of it's potential right now.

i been wanting one of those wireless ones to just never got around to it
one day want watering and lights and temp/humidity controlled by computer
just been to lazy to build it

I have my fans blowing right on my plants.. but they are 134CFM not 240.. it's actually best to have the fan offset in my opinion because that give better air circulation and actually changes out all of the air. Take it for what it is. I think ur fans are beast and probably do a pretty good job as it is.

u are right it is best to have fan intake blowing across plants then exiting
makes the plants stem stronger
mimics the wind

its so hard to do when they are small though... i know for me they are leaning so hardcore during the dark hours. then when it was light i flipped them around and they were blown the other way.. but now that they are older they are fucking beasts because of it. SO worth it. SIck grow btw gonna read up on it more in minute

Great minds think alike.

And right now (I'll take a pic when the lights come back on) the fans are offset. One is just above plant level blowing left to right, then theres another fan a lil above that opposite it blowing slightly down (will adjust up as plants grow taller) and then across from that is the exhaust sucking air out the left side. The intake is in the bottom right corner.

30 minutes after the lights came back on its up to 81. Not bad. The overall low for the day was 68 and a high of 91. I'm okay with this range as long as the air is moving around.

Pic of the fan set up. Theoretically the airflow goes back and forth across the cab as it goes up, hot air rising and exiting cool air entering from the bottom.

fans seem to be working well. temp was at 83 in the left corner (the spot with the LEAST air flow) after the door was closed/lights on for 10 hours.
