FIRST GROW JOURNAL!

Alright so I just recently ordered some seeds from nirvanashop.com. Got 5 Kayla golds because the website said how well they grow outdoors which is the type of grow I will be doing and good for beginners which is what I am. I am located in USA Florida and would like any tips I could get from anyone here of any form. Could be soil type, trimming methods, any info you will give I will gladly receive. I ordered them to a friends house for the extra safety and just recently got a letter from USPS saying no one was home to sign for it which raised alarms for me but further reading that I had to reschedule for re delivery but had the option to just get them to leave it on the porch but still shook me up a bit, if anyone thinks it's a bad idea to go through with it let me know but as of now I am going through with it and will be updating this thread through pictures and words. Thanks everyone for the help and can't wait to show you my final product!

Welcome to RIU, and the wonderful world of cultivating the world's most misunderstood and feared medicines!!!

The only 'advice' I can give you or anyone is to read and learn and then apply what you have read and learned to your garden and you cannot fail. Anyways, remember the search tool is your friend...Lots of folks here willing to help a new farmer get up and growing. But at the end of the day your grow will be only as good as the knowledge and work you put into it.

It is always great to ask questions but do not take anyone's advice or opinions and follow blindly. Do your own research, you will be much happier knowing you have done it for yourself and by yourself. The first buzz you get from your own budz...is by far the BEST high you will ever have!

Do a search using your current question as the keyword(s) and ZOOOM!! Like Wonka's Great Glass Elevator…off you go to tons of threads answering all your questions. Read all the Newbie Central stickies and learn…

Soaking up all that information and sifting through it, is going to take time. You will likely finish your first grow by then. Viola! grow complete and education well under way.

I lived in Florida more than 1/2 my life...very high humidity of course and very illegal. I assume you have taken both into consideration. TBH, I never grew outdoors at all but if I were going to do so in Florida...I would grow sativas I would start them in June...veg for 2 months and harvest late October/early November when it starts to get cooler there.

As for soil, nutes, equipment and such...I don't know where you live in relationship to Orlando...but, there is an HTG supply store in Delano they rock!. But, if you have a garden or hydro shop nearby that of course will serve the purpose as well. As for what to buy...do some reading around in the outdoor grow forum...ask questions and get opinions.

So I was getting around to picking out my soil mix. I want to do all organic and have been reading up on soil types and nutrients and all that good stuff, it's some complicated stuff to understand if you ask me. I am doing a guerilla grow and plan on starting off seedlings at my house then transferring them to grow site once they start vegging and putting them in the ground so yes I will be digging some holes. Back to soil mix tho I was planning on getting some black gold potting mix from Walmart and just buying some night crawler worms to put into the soil whenever I transport them into the holes. So that should cover the worm castings and was also though to put Epsom salts mixed in cuz I read that it's really good for sativas. I'm not trying to go all out with the nutes but also don't want to completely ignore them. Should this soil mix be ok? The kaya golds are known to be easy to grow but I'd still like to get the most out of my plants and the experience and knowledge in for when I chose to try out more advanced strains.

Best soils in the world are ones you make from scratch yourself buying needed parts :)

Wish I had time to do that but as of now I don't. Been doing a little bit more reading and am now leaning towards fox farm ocean Forrest. I know that it lacks calcium and magnesium but for that replacement I read 1 tsp Epsom salt in distilled water and 1 tbsp of molasses per gallon. Also question about that, I was thinking of just having a couple gallons of distilled water left at my grow site since it's a guerilla grow and won't have to bring water everytime it needs watering so was wondering if it would be fine to make those mixtures of the Epsom salt and molasses then just leave it at the grow site under some shade of a tree or something. Also with that mixture of the Epsom salt and molasses would I use that for everytime k water or occasionally, if so how often??

I finally got my seeds!! I'm rating nirvana A+ the only reason I say "finally" is because all the bs the post office was giving me. Nirvanas customer service was excellent and the shipping time was excellent, they all came in a very well hidden package all protected extremely good. This is my first experience with muting seeds online and I was highly pleased. Now it's time to get to growing but got thunderstorms all week so will wait til around Friday to start germenating. I will be updating everyone ASAP with how my seedlings are and like I said I will gladly take any criticism or advice!!

LOL funny you say that because I'm not in a different location and I also live in florida :)
Did you buy the seeds at the same exact time, same exact transit, same exact person delivering it? Lol this is what I meant by different locations . there are a shit ton of FedEx's and ups places so even buying the seed at the same exact time being next to each other you could expect to have a week in between each delivery times.

Thanks, puts my mind at ease.

LOL. Location does not = time, transit or person delivering it, the word you are looking for is "logistics" boy. Please dont say one thing and mean another totally different thing and expect someone to know what your broken english meant. School is a good thing and more people should have stayed in it. You need to learn how things work sonny :)
Look before you get smart I use to work at FedEx for 3 years and still got my badge. Most boxes are damaged and have to be put on a separate transit.just for that I hope you don't get your seeds. Being a dick when someone explains something to you is a dick move.

Just put them in the soil, only 3 at the time the other 2 are having trouble germinating but they were the free "mystery seeds" so it's all good. I did everything i know about planting, like 1/4 inch down with the root down, covered it just a little bit and put little bit of water in the spot where the seed is. I'm being so specific because I've had trouble getting plants to sprout in the past and failed (this is why I say my first because I have no geeenthumb) but then again this is my first time using some good soil looking j to nutes and doing all this wonderful research thanks to RIU. Anyone have an estimate on usually how long plants take to sprout out the ground when they're outdoors? Also more importantly I plan on "mainlining" my plants. Which from what I believe is where you top it and use LST at the same time. I need to do that because of security reasons it's a guerilla grow and it needs to blend in with surrounding. brush. So basically any tips on that as when to start it mostly?
