Welcome to RIU, and the wonderful world of cultivating the world's most misunderstood and feared medicines!!!
The only 'advice' I can give you or anyone is to read and learn and then apply what you have read and learned to your garden and you cannot fail. Anyways, remember the search tool is your friend...Lots of folks here willing to help a new farmer get up and growing. But at the end of the day your grow will be only as good as the knowledge and work you put into it.
It is always great to ask questions but do not take anyone's advice or opinions and follow blindly. Do your own research, you will be much happier knowing you have done it for yourself and by yourself. The first buzz you get from your own budz...is by far the BEST high you will ever have!
Do a search using your current question as the keyword(s) and ZOOOM!! Like Wonka's Great Glass Elevator…off you go to tons of threads answering all your questions. Read all the Newbie Central stickies and learn…
Soaking up all that information and sifting through it, is going to take time. You will likely finish your first grow by then. Viola! grow complete and education well under way.
Alright so I just recently ordered some seeds from nirvanashop.com. Got 5 Kayla golds because the website said how well they grow outdoors which is the type of grow I will be doing and good for beginners which is what I am. I am located in USA Florida and would like any tips I could get from anyone here of any form. Could be soil type, trimming methods, any info you will give I will gladly receive. I ordered them to a friends house for the extra safety and just recently got a letter from USPS saying no one was home to sign for it which raised alarms for me but further reading that I had to reschedule for re delivery but had the option to just get them to leave it on the porch but still shook me up a bit, if anyone thinks it's a bad idea to go through with it let me know but as of now I am going through with it and will be updating this thread through pictures and words. Thanks everyone for the help and can't wait to show you my final product!
I lived in Florida more than 1/2 my life...very high humidity of course and very illegal. I assume you have taken both into consideration. TBH, I never grew outdoors at all but if I were going to do so in Florida...I would grow sativas I would start them in June...veg for 2 months and harvest late October/early November when it starts to get cooler there.
As for soil, nutes, equipment and such...I don't know where you live in relationship to Orlando...but, there is an HTG supply store in Delano they rock!. But, if you have a garden or hydro shop nearby that of course will serve the purpose as well. As for what to buy...do some reading around in the outdoor grow forum...ask questions and get opinions.
