First grow plants curling down and yellowing

This is my first grow I have 2 stoned owl plants going from some seeds I got out of a bag, planted in fox farms soil. first week they went good I haven’t changed anything The past few days they started dropping bad and turning yellow at the tips, I thought it was overwatering at first so I haven’t watered them in a day and a half, they seem to have got worse.
I’m using a 300w light and it’s about 20-35 inches away. Any help is appreciated

FF soil can be/is pretty hot for a young plant. I personally haven't had many issues with their Happy Frog soil

It does look like over watering. A good way for smaller plants is to water them, get a feel for how heavy they are, then don’t water again until significantly lighter.

I’ve been trying that, the 2 that are that size feel pretty heavy compared to the ones I started 5 days ago, do you think they can be saved?

It’s a cheap one off amazo, it’s called a viarspectra 300w

That’s the problem, I got that same light for my kids to grow indoor basil and chives and it barely cuts it for that, it’s way weak for weed though. It’ll never flower under that. It’s really only about 32 watts from the wall. You need something closer to 300w from the wall, Mars hydro makes a good cheap light. Just make sure it’s the new full spectrum and not blurple. Sorry to be the bringer of bad news.

Thanks for the reply man, you think this would get me by for another week or so till I can get a better setup? I’m in a 16x16 small tent so I can’t go too crazy with a light until I get a new tent. Also do you recommend I just not water these plants for a day or so to see if they perk up?

Also what size light would you recommend? I’m thinking about getting a 96x48x80 tent

If you dig your finger in the soil and feel dampness around first knuckle deep, you’re good. Mars makes small lights that would do just fine in 16x16, there’s others on amazon, just seen more happy customers with mars than the other cheapies, especially for the price.

That light is 130w from the wall and will do just fine for Veg, but yeah not so much for flower.. Larfy/loose buds
Their newer XS series or even the older Pro series mich better option and will flower 1-2 plants fine depending on series/model size :joint:

There’s no way that light is putting anywhere near 100w to the leds, it doesn’t even put off 250umol which is the bottom line for veg. Use a shit light if you like, but you’ll get shit results.

Not saying it’s great. But it is 130w from the wall. I’ve used them and if I still had them , I’d show you a reading . And imo for Veg.. it’s fine for 1-2 plants

That’s what I did from the start but it seems like the soil is almost always dry when I do that unless it’s soon after I water it, I also found a mars light that will fit in my tent.

What comes from the wall isn’t what goes into the leds with blurples. The fans and circuitry eat a bunch of the power, and they overdrive the cheap leds, which just turns wattage to heat.
The newer style actual full spectrum lights actually put the power to the lights, is all I’m saying. They don’t overdrive the leds like blurple, which saves heat and your bill whilst putting out better light for your plant.

Then go by weight. Water till it runs off, then water next when it’s significantly lighter. Just make sure the water reaches the bottom of your soil when you water.

I haven’t had any water runoff since I started I feel like that may be the problem now, the pots have plenty of drainage but the water doesn’t go all the way through but the 2 that are 2 weeks old feel a lot heavier than the plant I started 5 days ago

Did you mix the FoxF with anything else? Perlite? And what are your temps/Rh?
