Fed all the girls yesterday (850-900 ppm of a ca. 4:3:6 mix using Dynagro Foliage Pro and Jack's Classic Blossom booster + various additives). I've devised a schedule for weekly feedings which should lower the ratio of N each week (from 33% to start...down to about 7%) using these two chemical nutes (and/or Maxsea). I did notice that they're no longer able to get by with one feeding/watering per week, since they're considerably bigger now than when I started, and these grow bags are only about 5 gal. Maybe if I used the ten-gal bags I could get away with once a week, but not with these. I'll probly have to start twice-a-week feedings from here on out. Also, had a problem with a police helicopter yesterday around my grow sites. It's a large area (maybe 20-30 acres of wild fields, with a seldom-used fenced hiking path cutting through the middle of it. This one copter kept circling around the area over the course of an hour or so...I actually felt the need to duck for cover a few times, I was so convinced they were tracking me. Maybe I was just being paranoid, but they def were looking for something. Gonna be extra careful from here on out...but it sure would be nice to only have to visit once a week like before.

Anyways, here's some updated pics. Can't really see much progress from week to week in these photos, but the plants have basically stopped stretching and the buds are coming along nicely. All of the NHH plants have nice purple-pink pistils on 'em. The rest are pretty much boring white at this point. I'll try to get some decent macro shots of the NHH buds in the next few weeks...they're really quite different from what I'm used to seeing. In any event, all the plants seem to have recovered from earlier health issues and look pretty good (some better than others, lol). Sure wish the lower part of the GK hadn't gotten eaten...that one coulda been a great plant, judging from the buds forming on what's left of it.

Not much new to report. All the girls are looking fine, and budding is well underway. The 5-gal bags grow bags were def a little on the small side. They're usually nearly dry after a few days, so I'm having to visit each site twice a week now. I hope they hold out for another month or so...can't really visit 'em more often than this. I'm alternating between watering and feeding (and bumped up to 1150 ppm this last time).

The autos on the rooftop should be done within a few weeks. They're already starting to fade, and I'll be flushing them until chop time. The yield's gonna be lousy, for sure...not a good idea to grow autos in July-Aug, I guess.

Anyways, here's some pics. First the remote sites:

Not much to report this week. Someone (or something) tore off the very top of one of the colas on the BuKu. The fishing line I had around the site was tripped as well...can't say for sure whether it was due to man or beast. Either way, I set the line back up today and if I see anything funny with this plant in the next few weeks, I'm gonna move it to a different site. I suspect there might be some homeless dudes living in the woods near the site where BuKu and EJ are living, so it coulda been one of them. If it was, they'll probly be back at some point.

So far I really like the way the Emerald Triangle strains are growing. The buds have fattened up much quicker than any of the others. On the other hand, the Dinafem Powerkush has been pretty disappointing so far. I'm pretty sure it stretched even more this past week (it's now the tallest plant I've got), but the buds are comparatively small at this point. It did start flowering a week later than the others, so maybe I'll have to allow for that. But even being just a week behind, I still think the buds look wimpy. Time will tell, I guess.

I'm still feeding all of the girls at around 1100-1200 ppm. I'll probly start lowering that in the coming weeks since I've only got maybe 4-6 weeks of flowering left for most of 'em.

Anyways, here's the pics for this week. No photos of the two NHH plants I've got on the rooftop...my camera crapped out right before I was set to snap the pics.

Someone ripped my Emerald Jack within the last few days. The buds looked so good on this one, I was really looking forward to smoking it. Now I won't even get a chance to taste it.
I moved my BuKu (which was in the same area) on Monday, and the EJ was fine. In hindsight, I probly shoulda left the BuKu in place, since I would rather have lost that one (doesn't look nearly as nice). I suspect that whoever fucked with the BuKu last week notice it was gone, went looking for it, and stumbled on the EJ instead.

Live and learn, I guess. I'm so pissed off right now, though. I even wandered around the area for an hour with my clippers in hand...I really wanted to find the a**hole and stab him in the throat.

Still have one EJ freebie seed left. Guess it'll have to wait until next year.

Really big disappointment today.

yea, rippers suck, im praying to make it through the next 4-5 weeks without ne1 finding it, schools back in session and so is the sports season, so kids are more busy w/ that and less likely to go adventuring in the woods, at least i hope,

OK, we're about 5-6 weeks into flowering at this point. The remaining five girls are still in their places, and looking pretty good. Disappointed with the looks of the Dinafem BuKu, it's quite short and leafy. From what I've read here, I probably shouldn't have topped it. But it DID start out flowering pretty strongly, so I had high hopes for it early on. It seems like it just kinda fizzled out after a few good weeks. Anyways, we'll wait until harvest to decide for sure. About another 3 weeks left for that one, and probly 4-5 more weeks for most of the rest. Getting more nervous about losing the rest after what happened to my EJ. The BuKu is the only one left at this site, so I'm hopeful that no one's found the other two sites yet.

Gonna start cutting back the feedings to around 850-900 ppm next week.

I hear ya, I'm gettin a little paranoid about rippers after the past week. Good luck with yours...looks like I've got 4-5 more weeks myself.

Some of those look like they could be ready in 2.5-3weeks! If your that 'noid about rippers: YANK THOSE BITCHES UP! I'm sure they're already getting frosty for ya, and I'm sure you know it's really just a matter of preference as to when to harvest anyway.........Long story short, you may not have to wait a whole month on all of 'em.

It's the grapefruit krush and the 7th photo on the bottom I was talking about the most. And the best thought I can leave ya with (about the rippers and harvesting) is this: It'd be better to have some pretty good bud you grew, than to have none.:blsmoke:

Yeah, thanks for the tips. I'm just estimating based on the breeders' suggested flowering times...but I've got my scope out these days when I visit 'em, and I'm considering taking branches off at different times once I get into October...that way if the rippers find a plant, I'll at least have collected some of my harvest already. A little too early for that right now, but soon.

Oh, and that seventh photo is of the two NHH plants growing on our rooftop right now (at least I think that's the one you're referring to). No worries about those getting jacked, since they're out of sight and not easily reachable. They're starting to fade earlier than the one NHH I have going at a remote location. Maybe cuz they're in 3-gal buckets and not 5-gal bags? I'm not really sure...could also be a result of them getting stressed last week when I was a day late with their watering. In any event, I've read widely varying flowering times for this strain (anywhere from eight to eleven weeks), so you may be right, it's entirely possible that these will be done in 3 weeks or so.

Chances are I'll probly start taking at least sample buds off all the remaining plants by next Friday or so, since I've never smoked any of these strains...really anxious to get a small taste SOON.
