First indoor grow - 325W CFL + 100W LED

Hi,

Well, this is my first post here. I was quite a stoner in my teenage years, up untill early 20's. About a year ago, at age of 30, I rediscovered this wonderful herb. Now I embrace the effects that got me to quit. My first grow ever was 3 little bagseed sativa females that I had outdoors this year in pots too small and were transplanted too late. Haven't done enough reading. I got around 30g, really good smoke and lot's of crystals/resin, though. Then I build a small growbox from an old speaker cabinet, just for experimenting before I build the room, it failed due to a heat issue and I got a hermie, hence not really counting.
Now I built a room, cca 2 x 1,5m with a 200W CFL 2700K, 125W CFL 6500K and a 180W chinese ebay UFO(100W real?). I went for CFL/LED combination for heat issues, will be adding more LEDs in the near future.

This is my first indoor grow. 2 Northern Lights autos and 2 Sugar GOM autos. 18/6 from start. Today is day 22 and the sugars showed sex. I was only giving them water, now they'll slowly start getting nutes. There was a little (soil nute?) burn at some lower leaves, otherwise they seem reasonably healthy, I think. Average height around 16cm (6inch). Planted in mix of two most highly recomended locally availible soils and perlite into 18l (5gallon) pots, 33 x 33cm at the top. Have not been monitoring any ph and humidity yet. Temps are at 24°C daytime. Here are some pics of the grow so far:

In the last pic, SG are in front and NL in the back.

What do you think?

ill follow along here :)

just a small opinion of mine...first those jiffy peat cups are terrible...they dry out way too fast....my opinion

second CFL's still have heal problems...your going to want to make sure you have adequate ventialtion..

I didn't notice, but I'm an absolute beginner... temperature is steady at 24°C (75°F) near the exhaust vent with carbon filter(intake is passive, negative pressure) and I have a rotating 'wind' fan.

And they already smell soooo nice :weed:

Here is a pic of the lights... this weekend I'll hang the blue CFL vertically, just as the red one, and UFO will be hanged separately.

I was planning vertically and without reflectors for sidelight, plants around them, rotating every other day or so... I would then use this reflector for seedlings with blue/dual cfl for my next grows :)
Will this work? And again, there will gradually be more LEDs.

Thanks :) at the moment it's on the same chain as the cfl and I don't want them touching. I'll make new hangers tomorrow or saturday, so I can lower anything :)

if you want to utilize every lumen of light you would make a big reflector and put all 3 in it...

plants seem to be growing well though and with cheap UFO's and CFL's your going to want to move the lights around alot during the grow...

if you want my honest opinion, verti with CFL and UFO's seems a bit not worth the work...check out ScROGging and like i said above a large reflector to concentrate the light...just something to look at...

whats the height of your box?

Ceiling is about 210cm high. Yeah, I was looking at scrog option, maybe one of the next grows with some photo strains, I have since before I knew of autos :)
I didn't manage to move my lights today, it will be done tomorrow, and I'll post some new pics as well :)

Thanks, I think they look good as well, especially for first 'serious' grow :)
I won't be switching to 12/12, since they're all autos...

Funny, today, when they were out, my uncle said, that he could smell them in his apartment one floor above me... they REALLY do smell :)

A little update, day 27 since they popped out of soil. By eye I'd say the tallest 3 are around a foot tall.

Yesterday I fed them their first modest meal. They must have been hungry by now :)
There are some newish burned spots(since before the feed), cfl's too close, I believe. I pulled them apart a little, we'll see what happens. I didn't spot any bugs yet. Should I worry more?
I can't believe, how the photos appear to be dark... my eyes hurt while I'm in :D

Hey guys...

Day 33. Sugar GOMs (on the left) have streched quite a bit and are now really starting to flower. Northern Lights (on the right) are not there yet, but both showing sex. I also started some lst.

looking great man, theres alot of haters on autoflowering plants on here but i think they are great for certain people and great for beginer growers as you can get a feel for growing without concerning yourself with changing light schedules. i have grown a handfull of autoflowering plants and they all came out just as good as any photoperiod plant.

Thanks :) I was worried about them stretching too much? I need more light soon, when the NLs stretch and start their thing... it's gonna be a jungle in there :leaf::leaf::leaf:
Yeah, autos are great for small grows, since you don't need separate veg/flower rooms. I think people dislike AFs for what they were... but as I read, they've come a long way :)

Yup, they're getting quite big :weed:
