all is going well up to now, the set up is 400 watt light in a soil half compost, half soil from outside with some blood meal mixed in. watered about every 3 days and havnt used any ferts yet! :)

heres a pic for the present

its still going strong, though a couple of leaves are starting to yellow slightly at the bottom....possibly a lack of N? i shall try lightly fertlizing and seeing what happens. anyone know how long it takes before any results show?

i should probably mention that its a seed from a mixed bag, thinking about starting a strawberry cough plant as well and letting them grow to a good size before the flowering period, will the 3 week difference matter much (ill add 3 weeks grow to strawberry cough to compensate).

the set up is in a wardrobe thats well aired with a couple of pots of water to add humidty as well.

Looks good so far man.
You have a nice compact plant growing there.

A couple of questions to your questions then.
Why the clear cup? Do you want to see the roots so you know when to transplant? Don't let the light get to your roots for very long.

Is there 2 compartments to the wardrobe? I ask because of starting the others. If you have 2 then veg and bloom seperate if you choose to.

I'd do more than 1 just incase its a ........................male. :(

I just went through that, bummer, all that time spent. Anyway.

As for the yellowing leaves it may be nitrogen. A little nutes now would not hurt. I don't know when you should see results exactly, but not more than a couple days.

Okay now the basics, size of room(s), kind of light (400w what?), 24hrs or 18/6, ph, etc.. Pics of those help too.

The more info to start your journal the better, all around.

The male. Dissapointing at best. If it were in a hole outside no big deal, but the 24hrs of light in a grow box vegging for 6 weeks and.......notta.

thank you for replying! ah sadly no my wardrobe is one compartment, ive bought feminized seeds but i guess its never a sure thing.

i used the clear pots just to get a just for when the earth is becoming dry..alas i didnt think about the roots getting damaged. i shall get some sort of covering for them...possibly a black bag cut up and taped to the pots side. the lights only on for 16 hours a day on a timer.

its a 400 watt sodium light, makes a lot of heat but the wardrobe has a bit i can lift at the top to let heat out, i shall get a picture put up to let you see. its pretty much a width 77cm, 50cm depth and hieght 181cm

i have no idea of the soils ph tho :/

Looks good man.

Now that you have 3 plants growing in 1 compartment I would veg/bloom all plants together and section off the top half.

If you veg them to 12" (30cm) tall they will get to 90cm tall max +- and your cabinet is twice that height.

Later (next grows) divide up the top for seedling/clones and vegging. Just some ideas.

Problem is you will need more light and venting for the blooming. The wardrobe needs to have no light leaks for this. Doing this creates an air flow problem solved by venting. Venting during bloom will help fight mold from starting also.

You may know all this already, I'm rambling on, sorry.

Is that a fan above? Are you using it for air flow or to help strenghten the plants or both? Just curious.

You could fit what you can the way it is and figure out something different if you can not fit all 3 in there. It depends how you plan on growing them.

You are doing well so far, keep it up.

And here man.....:joint:

cheers dude! mm ive gave a little bit of thought to the ventilation but not much, trying to figure what would be the best way of venting it

since the top can be opened i was thinking about somehow using it to fit a ventilation device in and using bin liner bags to prevent light from escaping but its just one idea,
i dont have a fan in the wardrobe tho i occasionally stick one in to move the stems a little

just covered up the clear pots sides so thats one problem tackled! :p

oh yeah just now i usually have a rug that covers the whole front of the wardrobe so even when the top section is opened it stops some light from escaping but its not efficient in the slightest

Hey man is that a Iron Maiden poster on the wall?
Love their music.

What you have going now will be ok. With some more reading and attention to your plants they will be fine.

The reading will go a long way.

Check out this design, its a simple grow setup in a wardrobe cabinet.

Later Boagus.
