First official grow in progress!

Well in honor of my 600th post, I've decided to provide updates!

Day 27 / Flowering:

The Indicas are looking amazing! Coming along nicely with supreme trichome and bud development.

The lone Sativa is hangin' in there. People are right: marijuana is just a weed! I've made so many mistakes with this plant and little experiments and its still hanging in there and starting to develop a nice little collection of stigma.

Found a nice little closeup feature on my camera, as a side note.

Next up is one more Indica shot, then my Indica clones and 2 are of the Sativa FINALLY starting to bud. It was weird because it really showed no preflowering and I was quite confused. But I am happy that it's a she! Last one is a closeup of an Indica clone.

I have everything set up for both stages of growth and I now have 3 Dutch Dragon seeds and 3 Hawaiian Maui Waui seeds which I successfully germinated (6/6) with the paper towel method. The seeds are now in Jiffy Seed Starting Soil mix with a 20% mixture of Miracle Gro Perlite in Jiffy peat strips. They are currently under my 24" Hydrofarm and I am hoping to see a plant breaking through within the next 2-3 days! Below are some pics of my home made flowering chamber which I can't wait to use in a month or so. First pic is the cabinet from the front with no light protection.

Second pic is the exhaust fan with an additional circulation fan below it to move air between plants.

Third pic is the inside of the cabinet with the light off. Shows all 3 fans. Newest pic would show a temperature gauge and humidity gauge.

Last pic is the exhaust out with the surge protector on the back. Surge protector would be connected to the wall via a timer for the 12/12 stage.


Please let me know if you see anything I missed! I'd like to catch it before I start to flower in about 5 to 6 weeks here.

Some additional info on my box: only a 70w HPS bulb (will remove the outer casing for more even light distribution) but it's good for the space I think. Reflective material is Reflectix, a reflective insulation material used in house manufacturing. It keeps the box to about 75 degrees inside with no changes.

jiffy seed stating soil ! i think that stuff is supposed to have the seeds already in it LOL

Hello All,
Can I ask a question please? I planted bag seeds about 4-6 weeks ago. The plants look good, about 12" each. How long should I grow them in veg state? The books I read all say 3-6 months. What does everybody do here? Is it the good seeds that make bigger plants?

I grew mine in veg for 40+ days. I think most people veg for a month and flower for 2 with Indicas. Maybe a little longer both ways for a Sativa if you want optimum yield. It really depends on the strain you're growing though.


And yes please never use Jiffy seed starting mix. lol. it's so dry and nutrient void.

Welp..... updates, updates.

Today ends the 4th week (1st month of flowering) on day 30. I'm very excited about being at the half way point. Today I watered with my Tiger Bloom ( 1.5 tsp / gal. ) and had to add some pH up... then some pH down... (oops).

I'm watering without my Brita filter now because the fucking screen fell in the garbage disposal. A little concerned about the ppm. I'm going to have to figure out how to disassemble it tomorrow and get it out. It's also clogged with something.... probably soil and marijuana leaves... LOL.

I transplanted the best clone into a 1 gallon pot and the others I just watered. I think that it may have been a bad idea to start them on flower so quickly because I don't have much space.

In other news, the 3 large plants I have are looking great! Hairs everywhere....... I have maintenance coming tomorrow and I'm very concerned about the smell. I shut off my fans so the air circulation stops which will be good since I live in an apartment and the space is small. I'm also going to be running the washer and dryer, so the smell from the detergent is very helpful in masking the odor. I will also have the windows open so that I can get as much out as possible. Very concerned this could go bad. Pray for success for me!

Sorry about the long post... I will attempt to get some pics for you on day 32 (Friday). :blsmoke:

You will see a few new toys. Clone stand etc. I do have a few extra small floro's that would work for a small amount of clones. Free. You can stop by too if you are in the area hole. VV

Yeah he needs to get out of that hole canada.... haha jk buddy. Sorry about the lack of updates lately! My ISP stopped carrying service to this area so I've been without internet for about 9 days. The plants are coming along great. I ditched the last surviving Maui Waui... it's time had come. I have 4 clones and the 2 large Dutch Dragons now. Boy are they getting dense and furry. The smell has diminished to a pleasant citrusy smell. Also, my camera is broke. I'm going to take my girlfriend's old one as soon as I can. The time off might be nice so you can be surprised with the results! Thanks for hanging in there with me and I'll give an update as soon as possible. -d.oz

Well... today is technically day 45 of flowering. I cut off a very small branch, smoked half a bowl and was BLAZED!!! Dear God was this weed sweet and fruity. It was a very clear headed high that left me upbeat and conscious of my surroundings. The plants have 2 weeks left of flowering and at least 1 week of curing before a proper smoke. But let me tell you, I clipped a half pinky sized bud and my fingers almost got permanantly stuck together! I am very happy with my progress so far. Unfortunately my camera is still broke. I'll have to find a way to get one soon, I really need to keep documenting my grow!
