First PC Grow - Need your solid advice!

yeah .. I'm not getting my hopes up for anything more than a living plant at this point .. lol. Anything more than that, I might just shit my pants .. lol.
I've read on other forums where people have getting close to an oz from a pc build, but when you take a close look, those builds are not using mid size pc, they are using full size or ever server size towers - thus more room for bud.
Right now, it's all about learning.

Nice case man, I got a few old PCs laying around I really want to turn into cloning rooms or something. I just started my first grow in my own desk, i've killed two seeds off the bat not reading into germing before trying to plant my seeds and what not. I'm about three or four weeks into veg on my first grow and just starting LST for height issues.

She looks good so far, I also started in SOLO cups for the first two weeks but I did not water once, I read somewhere it could do some harm (the soil retains enough nutrients from the initial watering).

If you have a freezer that would be golden(could add a lock), I've been searching for a mini-fridge as I saw a really nice setup on these forums. I've seen someone yield 1.5oz from just a solo cup inside a PC case, deff worth wild imo.

I really like the bar fridge idea, I'm going to look for one of those. The freezer is a chest, which means that the lid opens - just makes it difficult to maintain the girls.

an ounce and a half from a solo cup....in a computer case....uh...no.
It was in a half sized mini fridge, so comparable to a PC case IMO (though I think it was LED lighting). If you LST from the start you can keep it pretty short.

The chest would work out IMO, just gotta look into SoG, have 2-3 plants that are short and bushy you could be just enough.

Ok .. so I checked on the girls and they are looking good. I swapped out one of the 26W 6500k for a 26W 4700K and it seems the the girls are loving it.
One of them, I can see the root popping out of one of the holes in the cup, should I transplant these babies? They are about two weeks in from sprout.
If I'm able to transplant them into the final pot, what size should I use for the PC grow? Equivalent to 1 gallon?
Also, when should I start adding nutes?
I'll have to post a pic soon, my phone just died.

There's a slick way of transplanting from a solo cup.....take a sharp razor blade and just cut the bottom off along the bottom edge. Then put the cup and everything into the hole you dug in the damp soil. You don't have to bury the entire cup...half-way is fine. I suck at transplanting and this works perfectly.

You want your fans by your lights and preferably at the top as heat rises. I would turn the case so that the lights were at the top along with the fans, which is probably what you are going to do, but either way it seems like things will turn out well.
If the lights stay on the side like that your plants will grow into them and get burnt.
Enjoy.

So if I cut the bottom of the cup (mine are cardboard), and just stick them in the soil (my container is about 6in deep) about halfway, the roots will grow out and stretch along my container?

Here's an update as of this morning:
Plants are looking nice and green. I've swapped out one 46W 6500K for a 26W 2700K and I think they are liking it.
Here's some pics:

I'm really sorry for the upside down pics, I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong.
As you can see, the root is starting to peek out and I figure it's time to transplant. I'll be researching that today.
Here is the final pot I'm planning on using. It's as close to a gallon I can get while keeping it low as possible.

I think I might use littleroach's technique, but I'm not sure if the cardboard cups will cause any issues or rot.

Thoughts, comments, suggestions?

yup i think you've got some great advice so far.
i think your temps and humidity is where it should be at. also, as oldgrowth mentioned, keep your fans as high as possible near your lights.
i'm sure as your plants get bigger and use more light..it'll help reduce the heat too (i think....heat = unused light bouncing off surface)

the hardest things for me right now is the patience. i'm into week 5 of veg and....i want to flower them already! lol

but yea, just stick to what your doing. give alot of love to your plants and they'll return the love.
i'll stop by often to check your progress....stop by my page too! :)

nice lilroach! i like that you have an auto flower goin on as you can have an early present while waiting for the rest of your crop :bigjoint:

just a question on staking. do you just stick them in the pot? i'm just wondering about any root damage that may cause?

Yeah.....I just stuck 'em in the dirt, and yes, I could feel it going through the roots. It's my contention that by this stage I have a massive root-ball going on under the soil and chopping a few to save some bud is worth it.

Ok .. so I transplanted them.
Here's what I did, I hope that everything works out:
- I added about half the soil into my pot.
- I then figured out where I wanted my plant in the pot and added some nutes to it. I mixed about 1/4 tsp to 600ml of bottled water and gently showered the area where I put the pant in
- I put my plant in place and gently massaged the cup until she turned out. gently placed her in and added the rest of the soil
- added a little more water with the nutes in it.

Here's some pics:

As you can see I"m a little cramped for space in here, I really need to figure out what I'm doing to grow them in.

If anyone has an idea on how to post pics right side up, let me know. I've tried everything but load from a website. I take the pics on my iphone, click on the picture icon and go to the folder on the phone and upload it from there ... am I completely mental?

I hope that your lights are adjustable in height. Remind me again what strain you have going here?

The lights aren't adjustable yet. Right now it's just being held in place by a swift tie. I'm thinking of building a new cabinet (I know, I know, I've said this before), something that's closer to 2x2x4 - hopefuly I can scrog two plants in there ... or maybe one in each and get an auto in the meantime.

This mornings update, all looks good. I think the girls have taken to transplant.
I did notice that one started to yellow and brown at the tips. The soil was a little dry so I added some water.

Today's Update - Day 2 since transplant.

2013-06-05 06.29.11.jpg2013-06-05 06.30.26.jpg2013-06-05 06.30.53.jpg2013-06-05 06.30.53.jpg2013-06-05 06.31.15.jpg2013-06-05 06.31.29.jpg

The girls look good, one of them (pic 3 I think) the tips are turning brown, I'm hoping that it's just a reaction to nutes when I transplanted. I'm sticking to straight water for the next couple of days.
Comments on how they look? Are they too droopy?

Thanks man .. I just saw that on a previous post and added the link to my faves!
I have a feeling that they are still too young to tell.
