i put a cap of peroxide in the atomizer tub for sterile insurance but not on the growths. if this is healthy mycelium what do you recomend me doing at this point?

The H2O2 in the atomizer is nothing but regular water by now do what I said in my last post that will tell u if it is a contamination or just super fluffy myc either way I wouldn't order that strain again

Just keep up with your f.a.e.'s and don't worry about. If it is contam (which it doesn't look like) you will find out soon enough. I've never seen mycelium so fluffy but It could just be a strain charectaristic. I.m.e, mushrooms don't need much to grow. People act like it's some kind of super science. Just fan them bitches and give them a bit of light and they will do their thing. Mushrooms are great teachers of patience.

I've seen this before and it seemed to have been caused from a lack of evaporation action. I did plenty of FAE and withheld misting for a while and that seemed to have caused the mycelium to knot up and start pinning.

There was no reaction to peroxide when putting a few drops on it. You just might be right about the ventilation thing cause the jars had no breathing vents on the jars just a loosened upside down lids, thanks to the person that gave me this stock of jars.

How is your FAE/fanning in that chamber though? It doesn't look like you drilled any holes. Sorry for giving you bad information before... I have never seen a cake get 2-3x it's size from fuzzy mycelium growth like that. how long have they been in there?

cake teks seem more complicated than other methods to me... but look into the shotgun terrarium tek. That seems like the best way to do it.

I have an auto terrarium....no holes just a constant air flow from the pump and a atomizer that is set to go on for 30 minutes every 4 hours.
The cake was a month old and just reached 100% . The cake next to it is from the same batch and today I woke up to pins on the normal looking one next to it. I didn't do any dunking...

Forgot you said atomizer.... I don't know much about those, but that's most likely the problem. And the air pump too... Did you follow a certain tek that others have had success with?

Shotgun fruiting chamber - check it out on the shroomery. It's much easier for cakes.

Hopefully canndo can come in with the right info

It's funny to me how now everyone is doing "shotgun" now. When I started everyone said it was so important to have a sealed chamber.

shotgun is supposed to use pasive physics for air flow, while I am not a proponent, the principle is sound. at least for this species.
