Im lookin to get a MH conversion for my 400 watt HPS ballast.. Would that be enough?
no, don't waste your time vegging with an mh. you really, really want to use a t5 fixture during veg. you can get t5s much closer to your plants than mh thus producing tighter internodes (this is good). plus i've heard good things about mixing the spectrum up with a t5. that's what i did and my plants vegged beautifully.

Nice work. There might be something up with that one on the right. Yellowing from the outside of the leaf and slightly curled.

I would add 'cannabis' to that last sentence and do a search on these forums or the web. I'm also noob.

CFL's are nice and close.

personally i think it looks good. the t8s on their side look great and are totally helping. i wouldn't change anything. i can't see a fan but I'm sure you have one blowing on them thats moving. id bet on about 30 g.

ease off the nutrients or your going to burn them and with that lighting and set up i think you will yield about 10 grams mate..... if you ever reach the end :)

I like you, but I cant understand how vegging under a mh is time wasting :)

If he has the ballast already it'll cost him much less to just buy a bulb. You've been misinformed on the difference of T5 vs MH. MH grows tight internodes and has better canopy penetration as well, as long as you learn distancing from plants.

i suppose i am misinformed then. i've learned everything i know on this subject through internet research. i'm fully aware that some of the things i believe to be true are more than likely misinformation. i suppose on a budget it would be smarter to just buy an mh bulb and veg with that. i personally love my t5 but that also means i've never even fired up my mh bulb.

would you say that mh is better than t5? i have an mh bulb and am about to start a new grow.

I would prefer MH over T5. They both have their pros and cons. There is an ongoing debate over the effectiveness of both. Do some research and decide for yourself which is best for different situations and apply accordingly. Good Luck.

In order HPS spec, Flourescent, LED. Im no expert grower, but do know my biology. Chlorophyll a and b absorb light in the 400-500 nm range (blue) AND in 600-700 range yellow to red. So I had just HPS, mostly yellow to red, added a led bank to cut down on heat, and ladies are doing well. More blue in flower, thats what I gleaned
